Could someone help me with restarting the dye

After letting it all grow out.

I just don't seem to suit it. I am only about 40% grey and the actual grey/white bit is nice but the rest of my hair is a dirty mouse colour. It also never goes shiny or smooth and goes flyaway and messy so easily. I have warm colouring and feel so washed outSad

I quite fancy putting some warmth back through it - maybe a dark blonde. I can't afford regular highlights though so not sure how best to go about this and suspect I'll need something I can do at home due to price/time restrictions.

Try Nice and Easy semi permanent. They do a range of darker blondes. I would try the wash out ones first as the more semi ones don't wash out completely.

My old colour will all be gone after my next haircut - hurrah !
As Isthatwhatdemonsdo said, some of the semi permanent ones don't ever wash out. I used the Nice & Easy one that says it lasts for 28 washes. I haven't coloured my hair for 18 months now and have used a colour stripper 6 times over that period (to fade it, to try and reduce the overall "badger" effect) and the colour never washed out.

However, the wash out ones just didn't take at all on my hair - hopefully you'll have better luck:-)

I'm the reverse of you! I've been gradually lightening my hair over the past 12 months after accidentally dying it almost black.

I've stripped it a couple of times and have now got to the stage where it is blended and I can tint the roots 7 (Dark Blonde). I use Garnier Nutrisse and the colour (Almond) is nothing like the packet. I would never have even considered it based on the pack swatch.

It's much more like a warm light auburn which is one shade lighter than my actual hair before I started going grey. I'm just not quite at the stage that I can go completely grey as I would look really washed out. This has been a perfect compromise for me.

Pookie, interesting......

Having spent 2 years growing out all the colour, part of me can't bear the idea of colouring it again and getting back into that cycle of 3 weekly colouring. I've tried the 8 wash semi perms and they cover the grey (which I don't mind) but leave the mouse (which I do).

I'm naturally dark brown. I've gone all out grey a couple of years ago. After family pressure I succumbed to the dye again.
My hair just doesn't take colour anymore. So I've removed the colour and put a very light ash blonde on to cover the Orange. Now going to grow out the grey again.
