I have the below leather shoes from Topshop which I love. They are perfect for work and surprisingly comfy. However they have been living in my desk drawer because I scuffed the toe on them.

Now the very tip of the toe is missing the coating of leather on them and I have no idea how I can fix it or at least make it less noticeable. Any suggestions?

Black Sharpie?

Unexpectedbaby · 03/02/2018 16:03

I was thinking that but not sure how the finish would be. Don't want to make it worse?

I do it all the time. It’s enough to trick most eyes.

Black nail varnish?

What about good old fashioned shoe polish? The proper stuff in the tin, use a cloth to work it in to the leather, then buff with a bristle brush (although those shoes might be a bit delicate for that), then polish with clean cloth. Might need a few goes to stain the bit you're concerned about. Or take them to a cobbler, they might be able to polish in some colour and make it last longer using their machines.

It always amazes me that people don't clean their shoes, or get them reheeled or resoled. Actually it astounds me that people don't even clean the dirt off. What a throwaway world we live in. Sorry for the rant OP, not really aimed at you but its a bug bear of mine!

Something like this www.collonil.com/en/shoe-cream-1896.html

Or take them to a cobblers and they will be able to cover it.

Black shoe polish in light layers works wonders.

Unexpectedbaby · 03/02/2018 17:59

A cobblers is a good idea actually!

@megansmandstop I completely agree. I would rather spend a little more and keep my shoes in good condition. Hence why I don't want to just throw these away.

Thank you all!
