Where can I get style inspiration?

I am 41 and fairly sure of my likes and dislikes but have a very limited social life which is having a negative impact on my confidence. While I am fine with work wear and full on party stuff, I struggle with more casual outfits. I have been invited to a birthday bash next weekend - it is a very relaxed affair and I have an idea in my head for an outfit style but it it's so vague I can't start looking! I live rurally so in this instance it will need to be online shopping. I bought these boots https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/shoes-and-boots/carvela-slow-chelsea-boots/d427682.pd#188204621 the other day and want to build an outfit around them but have tried google and Pinterest and am struggling to find places to get inspiration. I had fancied black trousers and a black top but would rather have an image in my head before I started looking Confused All help appreciated!

Love the boots. I’d wear those with skinny navy jeans and a cashmere jumper in grey or pink (slouchy style). Or a nice silky top in cream or white with a long necklace.
I think black
Trousers will look mumsy.. maybe try black skinny jeans instead?

Thank you. I struggle with bras so the only two I have that I like are coloured Blush Not sure I can buy tops and underwear in under 7 days Confused

I also think the boots might be more suited to jeans than trousers.

What size/style/make of bra do you like/have? I only like a certain triumph style, but luckily they sell at Next which does next day delivery. Next also do some high street brands, as well as their own stuff. Perhaps look there?

I use Pinterest .. for example if you want to make an outfit around a all saints leather jacket . Put that in and loads of pics come up . I use it loads for inspiration .

Thanks all. I had a notion for skinny black trousers - like the French Connection Street Twill skinny ones? But will try jeans too. Just feel that's all I wear. I have a slim build - size 8 with very little bust to speak of. Have done the measurements the Mumsnet way too and haven't managed to creep above a B cup. I need 32 back at the most but then often find the cups seem to be close together somehow?! OddBlush

Any suggestions for a top welcome too! I suit more fitted styles because I am small framed but would prefer something structured rather than clingy!

I've got these two tops and find them very flattering . I'm a curvy 10 and these show off my waist and boobs .

Oh they are lovely. Sadly I have zero cleavage so that style doesn't suit me Sad

Oh that's a shame .. what sort of tops do you like ?

abigboydidit · 03/02/2018 20:17

I can do shirts as long as they button up. I would love to be able to wear the type you have! Cap sleeved/no sleeves and round necked tend to suit me. Shell tops? Is that even a term? Confused

This shape would be ideal but that one is a bit boring! I like sleeved versions too!

This sort of thing?

abigboydidit · 03/02/2018 21:10

sportyfool abigboydiditI love that Lipsy top and would wear it even with my small boobies. That's what I like about crossover tops, they can actually make mine look a bit bigger. I never wear florals by those Oasis once are very cute. My DH doesn't quite get the top half-in/half-out on trend look and keeps telling me to tuck my top in Grin

sportyfool · 03/02/2018 21:21

Ha!!! I think oasis do nice 'shell ' tops . They do them every year , I've got quite a few and they wash so well .
I think wrap tops can look nice on everyone too but I can't be sure as I've always have big boobs ..
I do have to be careful where I wear it as boobies in daytime are too much IMO .

abigboydidit · 03/02/2018 21:21

expat you know you're right - I should try before I make my mind up! You've given me hope Wink
