Approaching 40 and don't want to be a frump!

I rarely post but need help!
So I'm 5ft 2, size 10 with curves. I really am in a clothing rut and need to find some style! My office is very casual so I spend most days in jeans, boots and jumpers. Weekends are more jeans and jumpers! I find it hard to find tops to fit that don't make me look frumpy!

Recommendations for relatively inexpensive petite clothing please... I usually buy from Next and DP. I'd like to show off my curves without looking tarty!

Thanks for any replies.

You're the same size and shape as me but I've got a few years on you. I buy petite clothes from: Boden, M&S, Gap, ASOS. Some of those tend to frump more than others. For M&S I've signed up for Try Tuesday. You put in your dimensions and answer some questions on your style then once a month you get some personalised recommendations. I've been quite impressed and they do recommend petite clothes.

Having said that I've gone through my purchases from last year and really the only petite clothes I've bought have been trousers. Although fitted dresses and tailored jackets are better petite as well. I'm wearing looser dresses (with belts) at the moment and for those I just go for minidresses. Skirts I go mini or maxi, trying to hit the kness is to much of a pain.

Brands that do petite I've not bought from: Mint Velvet, Biba, Coast, Anthropologie.

Oh, and petite bloggers in their 40s to inspire you: The Fashion Lift, SusieSoSo, Smalltownthreads, and MissionStyle although she is more active on instagram these days.

Thank you so much Count. Loads of tips there! I've followed all of those bloggers on instagram, so should give me some inspiration!
I'm going shipping with a petite friend tomorrow so will be interesting to see what we find.

Love Asos but my 14 year old loves it too Wink
Thanks again, I do feel inspired now
