Do I look okay in this bridesmaids dress?

After some honest feedback. I’m wearing it to a wedding this summer. Does it look okay (ignore the black pants Grin will be wearing a more neutral colour on the day.

Looks great on you, except length. I'd call it blush.

blueskyinmarch · 31/01/2018 18:44

Is there a bit inside where you could snip off a little bit of the fabric so you can post it to her? Then she will have something to use when planning her colours scheme.

ClementineWardrobe · 31/01/2018 18:48

Its lovely, but the internet isn't the place to ask about colour as screens differ wildly. The dress appears a different colour in each shot. Lighting in real life will make this dress look different again. I'd guess its that sort of fabric. If the bride wants lilac I don't think that's the dress. Lilac is usually something more strongly coloured than your dress. If the folks of mumsnet were seeing blue, you'd probably be alright but I don't think it is. Good luck.

As you are looking at it in the flesh, you would know better than us. Is it about her choosing her accessories to match? She needs to know what colour to tell florist/venue etc. I think you'd be best sending her a snippet.

Are you possibly sending it back if it is the wrong colour?

walkingdowntheboulevard · 31/01/2018 18:58

It's beautiful but I'd have the hem taken up as it looks like it's dragging on the floor.

SukiTheDog · 31/01/2018 19:31

It looks lovely on you. Enjoy the wedding!

Mummybo8 · 31/01/2018 19:32

Yes possibly sending back picklemepopcorn

I think it's a lilacy grey colour. Stunning dress!

picklemepopcorn · 31/01/2018 19:43

Ah, no good snipping bits off then. Unless there is a button or other trim attached as spare on the inside that you could half inch?

What about posting it to her, then she could return it if it isn't right? It's a lovely dress.

You look gorgeous.

goose1964 · 31/01/2018 21:51

I'm coming to your house and stealing your figure😁

OfficerGrant · 31/01/2018 22:20

It's beautiful. Maybe try and match it to a pantone colour, so your friend can 'see' what it is from afar. It does look very pale mind you. My mum wore a pale blue similar dress to my wedding. In all the photos she looked like she was trying to upstage the bride. She probably was. But I don't think you are trying to. I'd say go for a stronger colour.

You might be disappointed... It’s just well disguised 😂

It's a gorgeous dress and you look great in it.

I think the bride is going to have to order one herself to look at the colour if she's basing the whole colour scheme around it. She can send it back once she's seen it.

Forbwhay it's worth it looks like an antique blush rose (pink basically) colour in your pics but more a very pale lilac on ASOS. Usually though, when someone says lilac they're thinking more of a lavender colour. So more blue lilac than pink lilac. 🧐

She's going to have to look herself I think.

EnidButton · 31/01/2018 23:30

Is it an iPhone you used? They tend to alter colours slightly.

LemonysSnicket · 31/01/2018 23:52

Looks lovely

LemonysSnicket · 31/01/2018 23:52

And it’s lilac

Mummybo8 · 01/02/2018 10:04

Yes, it’s an iPhone. That’s good to know, thanks Enid. Oh, good idea, I’ll tell her to order one and return it ☺️ That solves that problem.
