Heels that are comfy and not granny shoes

I bought a couple of Mary Jane style from Clarks but they looked like granny shoes on me.

What can I try that will be really comfy yet elegant with a mid size heel. I almost feel like I need the strap as I do tend to slip out of shoes.

I am 67 and want something that will look nice with dresses but dont like ankle boots as they look clumpy on me .

Thanks

I've just ordered these because I have problems keeping heels on my feet . And I can't cope with them too highly either. I'll let you know how they are when they come .

Look on the new look site - I bought a pair of block heeled platform sandals on there - I'm rubbish at walking in heels but these were comfortable, affordable & attractive as well.

I like Hotter and I'm 41!

Esska are the only heels I can wear.

Whyarethebestnamestaken · 31/01/2018 15:46

Hi Sporty, yes please let me know what they are like, they look nice.

I will also look at Esska but have never heard of them.

For 'going out' heels I like Kurt Geiger, but M&S do some more comfy high heels either in a straight heel or the more chunky square heel not unlike some of the LK Bennett shoes, which I personally have never found to be for comfortable and have wasted a lot of money on.

sportyfool · 31/01/2018 16:52

Will do .

Clarks are good.

I just got these out of Clark's and they're not too grannyish and pretty comfy as they have a padded sole.

I like brands like Ecco, there’s a website called shoon that do nice comfortable shoes x

EvilTwins · 31/01/2018 22:29

M&S. And I know they’re not everyone’s taste but I have irregular choice heels which are incredibly comfortable.

IdaDown · 01/02/2018 07:29

Depending on your budget, i’ve consistently found Chie Mihara shoes very comfortable.

picklemepopcorn · 01/02/2018 07:48

Fly London do good comfy shoes that are not grannyish.

CMOTDibbler · 01/02/2018 07:50

I have a pair of Geox heels that are amazingly comfy, and look nice on

Hotter Donna heels. They are quite high across the foot arch so feel secure , are very comfortable and I got lots of compliments wearing them.

sportyfool · 01/02/2018 12:08

@Whyarethebestnamestaken

I've got them and they are nice , comfy and give the appearance of quite high heels but they don't feel like it .!
I personally hate hotter And Clark's bit obviously each to their own 🤗🤗

I definitely think you should revisit Clarks as for sure some are granny shoes but some styles are really nice and SUPER comfy. You just have to pick carefully and avoid the matronly ones.

I have a pair of Kendra Sienna in patent which are the comfiest heels I've ever bought in my life and look really sharp. They are high but with the squishy platform i can wear them no problem. Normally I'm a mid heel girl but these are a revelation.

And they're on sale!!

ExConstance · 01/02/2018 15:16

Ecco do styles where the heels are actually a bit lower than they look, they style the heel section up to and a little bit over the base of the shoe. They also have a system which is a bit like M&S Insolia to make heels comfortable.

mimiasovitch · 01/02/2018 22:15

I have a pair of ankle boots for work from the brand Tamaris. Not expensive, but seriously comfortable. I bought a pair of their court shoes from Zalando - £20 in the sale Smile - and honestly, they are amazingly comfy, despite being an inch higher than I would usually go for. This is now my go to brand.

I have a pair of Reiker wedges, no problems with the heels at all
