I'm in my 40s. I'm 5ft 1 and a size 12-14. I'm looking for suggestions on where to buy good jeans and what style would suit me.

The last pairs I bought were Dorothy Perkins which were ok but I have to admit now that they've become a bit baggy and not so flattering. They're also starting to wear out so it's a becoming quite urgent now!

I'm 41. I buy skinny jeans usually. I'm a size 12-14 also.
3 of my pairs are Dorothy Perkins darcy ankle grazers as I'm just under 5'4" and that length suit me.
I currently like embroidery on jeans, my favourites are grey faded skinny jeans with pink embroidery.
I've also had good jeans from Tesco!!

My sister swears by Next jeans, she likes skinny dark blue or black jeans. Miss Selfridge are supposed to be good.

For more expensive try Gap? Or Levi's?
Top shop do nice jeans but they fit boyish figures IMO.

Thanks @latara23. I find it so hard to know which fit best as my body shape has charged over the years and especially since having children.

Next 360 jeans are genuinely good for lots of body shapes, a are H&M's Shaping range. Both come in tall/petite sizes, too, which helps. H&M's tend to be pretty long in the leg, though, so size down on leg length if you go there.

After buying loads of jeans from various brands at various prices I discovered Sainsbury’s jeans. Good variety of sizes and lengths, cheap too

CountFosco · 01/02/2018 23:00

I get petite trousers from M&S, ASOS, Gap, Boden.9

SingaSong12 · 01/02/2018 23:09

I'm a similar height and size I know M&S gets a pasting on here but I find they have a wider range of shapes, but I'll be watching for other suggestions.

Also a large 12 and 5ft 3. I hsve a fantastic black pair from Sainsbury's and bought them in grey yesterday. Size 12 short, £15.

Similar height and size, I really like top shop Jamie jeans, they aren’t too low waisted and come in different leg lengths and styles

Redken24 · 02/02/2018 07:19

Topshop

I am really fond of a pair of Monsoon jeans. If only I had gone back and got another pair. They had zips at the ankle and were very comfy on my apple shape! Most jeans cut me in half (I mean almost literally or roll down over and under my (non) mum tum!

Ollivander84 · 02/02/2018 15:48

I like Sainsbury's 4 way stretch and m&s

Ofthread · 02/02/2018 15:49

Asos own brand

FuckyNellYaBastad · 02/02/2018 15:51

I like oasis lily. Mid to high rise, wash and wear great and no pulling them up every 5 minutes

hopethisworks · 02/02/2018 16:03

Mint velvet are good, lovely and soft and wash up well. I only buy in the sale though! Joules have been pretty good too and there's often a 20% off code flying around if they're not in a sale

TefalTester123 · 02/02/2018 16:10

Can also recommend Sainsbury's. Also, I learnt a way of taking up jeans which was recommended on here that really helps if you're short. Hard to describe but google magic jeans hem or invisible jeans hem. It means you can still see the original jeans hem & top stitching after taking up the jeans.
