What can I wear to get married in?

I'm getting married in May in New York. Just me and dp so very low key. Temperature 16 to 21 degrees.
I never wear dresses or skirts as a rule but like a shift type simple dress. I hate ruffles and fussy.
I'm six feet tall, size 14, very long legs and size 9 narrow feet. So a bit of a bugger to shop forGrin. Oh and late 50s.
I generally live in jeans and cigarette trousers.
No budget.
It might be a bit early to shop yet but if you have any ideas I'd be very grateful!
I can get to London if necessary.

Also, what do you plan to do after? Will you get changed after you've got married?

mummyhaschangedhername · 28/01/2018 15:54

Probably too bridal but I love it.

We plan to go and have lots of gin somewhere!!!
I do like that middleclass.
I have dark hair and am very pale...sunlight never touches my skin!. I suit bold colours..I like blue. Hate yellow. Live in gray and black.

Have a look at these, and bear in mind that while they are bridal, given enough notice, they can most likely be made in colours other than white (grey maybe?). The clean lines make them far less fussy. I quite like the Valerie dress, last row, middle photo.

Sadly yes mummy
I definitely don't want full length. Or basically draw any attention to myself 😀

😂 yeah, don't think I'm much help, whenever I look I get distracted by things with a bit of sparkle 😂 enjoy though, sounds lovely. 😄

How about the Torres trousers with a lovely simple top? You would look really stylish and classy but simple as in not ott?

HRTpatch · 28/01/2018 18:50

I am thinking along those lines mumontherocks
I gather wide trousers are "in" this spring.

If it helps the model is 5'10" in that picture.

I think navy might be a good choice. Classic but not black and you could have real fun with accessories with lots of colours to choose from (vibrant pink, pewter, silver, ivory etc).

HRTpatch · 29/01/2018 12:32

Love that Darth. I like navy
