Olaplex number 3 vs Phillip Kinsley elasticiser

I have Philip Kingsley elasticiser, but I was also considering trying olaplex number 3. I was wondering whether anybody knew whether they are different products or do they have the same active ingredients? I don't want to buy both if they're very similar. And is the olaplex worth trying? I have dyed brown hair, but it's highlighted underneath and repeatedly dyed so quite damaged.

They are two different things.
The elasticiser will make your hair feel instantly good, it coats the hair and delivers moisture. It is a conditiong treatment.
Olaplex may not neccessarily, it rebuilds bonds. It works at its best if youve had a full olaplex in salon treament to top up.

Ok great, thanks a lot. I was told that no 3 alone is enough for dyed brown hair and 1 and 2 were for bleached hair?

No thats totally untrue lol!
1 and 2 are for salon use, for bleaching or colouring, or a standalone treatment. No3 is a very diluted version of the salon version.

I am sitting here at home with my hair cover in Olaplaex 2. Olaplaex 2 is just a less dilute version of olaplaex 3. There is no reason why you can't use it at home, you don't do anything to it and there is no maximum usage time.

There is no reason but Olaplex 1 & 2 shouldnt be on sale publicly (it is though, through unauthorised sellers. The risk of that is further dilution by the seller which is common)

On another note I’ve not personally tried the Philip Kinsley one, just bought a sample to try based on this thread 😂

Mine is from a hairdressing supplier and is sealed both on top of the bottle and in the box. Its definitely genuine and sold on Amazon. It only isn't sold to the public because they'd rather control the price through salons and enable salons to charge for applying it.
