Help! Cocktail dress for short fat middle aged woman needed fast!

I’m going to a winter ‘ball’ next Saturday. Dress code is not full on black tie so a cocktail dress will be fine but unfortunately I am too fat to fit into anything I currently own😭

I’m 46, blonde, 5’2”, size 18, definite pear shape with varicose veins and dodgy knees so will definitely need to wear black tights and either flats or these heels as they are the only ones I can walk in

Don’t want to spend a fortune either as this has given me a kick up the arse to stick to the healthy eating plan I have been half heartedly trying

Any ideas?

If I don’t like it when it comes there’s s couple of branches of roman originals near here so I could get the original blue one

I wouldn't go for the rust Lindy bop taffeta as it's an unforgiving material. I'd stick to black as it's more flattering and forgiving and will look better with thick black tights.

OP it doesn't have to be black tights - or certainly not thick ones.

The trick is to wear two pairs at once. Make the first pair a skin tone, 40 denier support pair (non shiny). Then wear whatever you want to wear over them. Sort of foundation for the legs.
