A sheer foundation that subtly brightens?

Now I'm middle aged, t's time to say goodbye to my much loved velvet finish foundation in favour of something that will give my a fresher, slightly more dewy look.

I want something subtle though, don't want to look shiny or sparkly. Preferably something high end as I'm a sucker for gorgeous packaging.

I utterly love Inika liquid mineral foundation with hyaluronic acid - it's fairly sheer, organic, and cruelty free.

It's quite 'spensive though.

Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser? I don’t do foundation often now. Am 55 and it ages, in daylight.

I really like my Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder, with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. I recommend Hourglass to everyone, the palettes are honestly the best make up I’ve ever owned.

+1 for a Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. Gives a very natural look with a hint of dewyness.

Nars illuminating tinted moisturiser I prefer it to The Ordinary foundation that was my last failsafe but I’m about to google hourglass

I really like the idea of a tinted moisturizer. I used to really love Clinique's Sheer Tint in Blonde, but then they changed the formulation and it was never as nice.

This makes my 48 year old skin glow like nothing else

I'm impressed with Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow (fluid foundation). It gives me a glow but isn't sparkly. The bottle isn't glamorous but it's not ugly either, it's a plastic pump bottle.

I also love Estée Lauder Double Wear Water Fresh Nude. It bears absolutely no relation whatsoever to normal Double Wear, it’s gently dewy and one layer is your-skin-but-better coverage. I have tricky dehydrated skin & I love it.

Boots will happily give you a 7 day sample of any EL foundation. Mine lasted over two weeks.
