Best nail varnish for disguising battered nails?

My nails are in a bad way due to peeling off shellac (I know I know). They are split, broken and rough.

Any recommendations for a nail polish that will disguise the bumpiness, make them look slightly neater and not attract the eye IYSWIM?

Essie grow stronger or first base are good. I wear them on their own without coloured polish on top, and they seem to smooth out the roughness and just feel so much nicer.
Also rubbing in cuticle/nail oil, Essie do an apricot one which is lovely.
