I've only recently discovered the joys of Youtube, having previously dismissed it as a "yoof fing". Oh how foolish I have been. I've found the wonderful Lisa Eldridge but am looking for other suggestions of people to watch.

There are a lot of young, very creative people doing amazing things with makeup but I'm a bit past the experimental wild colours they use (but oh how I remember the fun it was....). I'm nearly 50 so lime eyes and purple lips are no longer my world.

Who are you all watching?

Stephanie Marie, MsGoldGirl - US makeup & skincare, good for techniques etc

Caroline Hirons, Nadine Baggott and Trinny Woodall for mature focussed skincare and makeup

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 25/01/2018 12:50

Stephanie Nicole and Caroline Hirons. Both excellent and aware that people aged over 35 look ridiculous in neon eyeshadow Smile

HotandFlashy
Gothamista

Shmithecat · 25/01/2018 13:56

Caroline Barnes is also good, she’s mid-40s I think and has some great short videos to demonstrate various methods of makeup application and looks.

homebythesea · 25/01/2018 15:39

Yes to Caroline Barnes. Miss Budget Beauty is a bit younger but good

riledandharrassed · 25/01/2018 15:44

Dr Sam Buntings channel is AWESOME . She is actually qualified lol.

She recommends a huge range of products - lots you can get in Boots

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 25/01/2018 15:49

You need a second mortgage to follow those, esp. some skincare gurus.

As for makeup, apart from Lisa Eldridge and Monica Blunder it's all pretty much inches deep of troweled on slap.

Ofthread · 25/01/2018 16:42

Jackie Aina for makeup and just because she's so entertaining.

Bitsy1968 · 26/01/2018 17:07

thanks everyone. I'm enjoying what I'm seeing so far!

I love watching Mary Greenwell.

I like the fact she's not big on brushes and uses her fingers a lot to apply make up.

She's really focused on beauty make up rather than trends Which means you might actually want to replicate what she does Grin.

If you don't know who she is, she's a very famous MUA who used to do Diana's make up (moved her away from blue mascara!) and works a lot now with people like Kate Winslet and Cate Blancett for red carpet events.

She doesn't have her own channel but does a lot of videos on Get the Gloss - search for her name in YouTube and you'll find her.
