Where do you all buy your steampunk clothing? Ive been along to a few steampunk events and they sell loads of stuff there but surely theres online shops too?

I'm currently wearing breeches, waistcoat, top hat goggles etc but want something a little more elegant for my trip to The Time Quake Weekend at The Asylum Manchester in March.

Have you tried googling hell bunny? Some items can look steampunk with the correct accessories.

I have a wicked dress which is very steam punk and I’m pretty sure it was hell bunny. I just bought another and although it’s very Victorian goth again with the correct accessories it would work.

Thanks I buy Hell Bunny for my 50's look and hadn't really noticed anything standing out. I fancied something extravagant hence my post Grin

Just looked in the wardrobe, spin doctor, haven’t looked at their recent stuff but the dress I have is definitely steam punk.

This is lovely. Thanks for the link, I haven’t looked at Kate’s clothing for a while. I may now be slightly poorer!

ScreamingValenta · 24/01/2018 18:11

Ebay, though you encounter some very wide interpretations of 'steampunk' in the listings!

ReinettePompadour · 24/01/2018 18:16

Oooo Kates Clothing I had forgotten that even existed. Thanks....I may also be a bit poorer after looking at this lot Grin

Yes, Ive found Ebay to offer questionable steampunk clothing.

That Kate’s clothing site has got a fabulous red wedding dress, have a look at that OP, it’s stunning.

Amongst lots of other things, EMP does a few steampunk outfits. Nothing too out there, but therefore a bit easier on the wallet too.

HoneyDragon · 24/01/2018 19:44

Hellbunny have always done nice bits. Sadly mine are all residing in my nieces wardrobe after a raid ....and good on her Grin

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/01/2018 19:54

My recent wedding was Steampunk Grin I found it quite difficult to get stuff, and resorted to going to Steampunk fairs, where it was easier to actually see stuff and try it on. There are a few facebook pages if you put steampunk in the search.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/01/2018 19:55

Actually, thinking about it, the Goth weekend at Whitby is probably a really good place to buy stuff, depending on where you are. Whitby is fab by the way.

directsunlight · 24/01/2018 19:56

What happens at steampunk events? I'm curious!

ReinettePompadour · 24/01/2018 22:04

Its victoriana and sci-fi mixed up. Theres artists, costumes, musicians, re-enactors who are acting/selling etc Its just fun, an escape from the stresses of modern life or something. Overall we like dressing up and doing something different.

There' s an online shop I often see at comic cons called something like The fizzle and crank emporium. Their stuff is wonderful
