Hi
I am going to a dinner in March and the dress code is long and shoulders covered but I have no idea where to shop or what style. I'm 5 6 and a size 16 if that help.

Please I will welcome any ideas

Could you give an idea of your budget chaplin as that may narrow down a few things.

Just for starters I had a look at Roman Originals, where I've got several of my cruise evening dresses from. This one would fit the bill

or this

Otherwise I'd have a look at Phase Eight or Monsoon, or online at the department stores (John Lewis, House of Fraser, Debenhams etc). I know it's the end of the sales, but you might be lucky.

Thank you. I am thinking I don't want to spend more than £100 pounds.

Have a look at the Ghost sale online. Gorgeous and very flattering cut.

Try Tk Maxx.

I’m the same height and weight as you. I had a corporate black tie do last spring and couldn’t find a thing. I didn’t want to spend much. After trying all sorts I ordered a dress based on reviews (and buyers own photos) on amazon with prime and it had free returns so no gambles really. I did spend an extra £20 on a good pair of Spanx type knickers though. This is it. Others by the same brand get similar reviews. Loads of compliments and when I told a close colleague/friend how much I’d really paid she was speechless!!
