Boots no7 Lift and Luminate foundation?

I have used this for years and usually buy it when it's on buy 2 get 1 free so it's quite a while since I've bought it.
Well the time has come ( isn't it annoying when you think you have loads left in the bottle but it's just the way the bottle has been coloured and you're using the pump action frantically with nothing coming out?)

Anyway all that seems to be available now is a different version called Lift and Luminate triple action serum foundation at £18. Typical on a Sunday in a small Boots there is no number 7 adviser available.

Have they discontinued the original one? I'm sure I didn't pay as much as £18 in the past. I'm not on Twitter or anything like that to ask Boots directly.

I hope I don't have to resign myself to the fact that my favourite foundation is gone forever. No7 did that with my blusher too.

Hope not! It’s good stuff, the original and they say, one of their absolute best sellers. Why do these companies muck about with us consumers in this way? They spend a fortune in advertising to “sell” us something great then they effectively say “that wasn’t as great as we thought.....now buy this”.

Hi I've been using the lift and luminate foundation for ages and last time I went to get some from boots had to get the new stuff. I've been using it for about a month now and I think it is better than the original one. For me anyway it makes my skin look much better with foundation on and I think it goes on smoother too.

I think, from memory, the old one was about £16.

Grandadwasthatyou · 21/01/2018 16:35

Well I'm glad you think it's better although it's a bit sneaky how they've now added serum and are charging us an extra £2 whether we like it or not!

Will just have to bite the bullet.

Thanks for your replies.

It's not the way the bottle is coloured where you think there's some left but it won't come out. It's a fault with the design, it gets air locked at that point but if you pump numerous times quickly it starts working again. Alternatively Boots were replacing those bottles with a full new one if it wouldn't work or customers complained about the inconvenience.
The new packaging is to combat the problem and the added serum has enhanced the product but not changed it hugely.
The extra cost is a typical sneaky price increase.
