Need factor 50 matte sunscreen for face

Any recommendations? Doesn't have to be totally matte but definitely need non shiny as I'm oily. Also one that would be a good base for makeup (not that I'll be wearing makeup the whole time but when I do I don't want it to slide off)
I used to like Mac's prep and prime , it was so mattifying but they seem to have changed the formula :(

or even, a factor 50 primer, if one exists apart from the MAC!

Yes, the LRP Anthelios with the green bit on the packaging is very matt, but it does leave a white cast so you have to put foundation on all over. I'm hoping the Ordinary ones are going to be good when they come out.

Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry Touch - it's AMAZING, never known a sunscreen like it before!!

LRP Anthelios XL - appears greasy going on but is quickly absorbed and no sign of greasiness. Haven't found it white/chalky

Don't let the size of the tiny bottle put you off - it lasts a while and is often on Boots 3for2

Heliocare 360 oil free gel is the one I use and I really like it. Definitely doesn't make my face any more oily and absorbs well!

Another vote for Anthelios. It saw me through 90% humidity last year.

Alpha H does a very good non greasy sunscreen for face. It doesn't leave a white cast either. Their daily moisturiser with SPF 50 is also excellent and non greasy.

Vichy do a very good matt sunscreen for under make up.I found Anthelios gave me a white chalky glaze.

I've just bought Altruistic suncream from amazon, it's really non greasy and you don't get any residue. It's not posh and not for faces in particular but I think it totally does the job. Developed by a skin cancer doctor in the UK with no marketing budget, I like the ethos behind it too.

Biore watery gel from eBay or Amazon is fantastic. I found la Roche Posay very thick and sticky

Are you sure you need 50?
30, apparently, is the new 50. The theory being that the difference in protection is minimal and its not worth the extra chemicals it takes to go from 30 to 50. 30 is much easier to work with and to put make up over.

I second the Biore Watery essence, it feels lovely on your skin.

you're probably right, Mulberry, it's not summer where I'm going (a few days in Florida, then on a boat, one stop off to Belize and Costa Maya) but will be hot on the stop offs...but maybe I don't need 50..

Another vote for Heliocare 360 oil free gel, leaves a nice matt finish.

Interested to hear that,MrsJamin - I was looking at the one last summer but stuck to my Bioré Watery Essence in the end. Actually thinking about it, I think I bought the yello bottle Bioré, which might be called something else, but it seemed v similar to my usual one in texture etc.

I'm an oily person . Anthellios is my favourite too. No chalky shiny face. No sun burn, no break outs. Agree it lasts longer than bottle would suggest. It's often on offer direct from LRP

I couldn't find it in store and ended up getting Eucerin oil control sun gel cream which says it's fine for under makeup. Anyone tried?

I use Solait 50+ Anti-Ageing Face Fluid from Superdrug which is very matte and works really well under my makeup. Was only £3.99!

Ooh @wubbers at £3.99 I'm definitely going to try that, we're going to visit the in-laws for the first time this summer (will be about 35 degrees) and I am the whitest of white things!
