Fine coloured hair - looks like Worzel G Help!!!

My hair is really fine, its quite oily at the roots so i was (and dry) it every day. I had a few highlights put in last week and all of a sudden the condition seems so dry. I've got the remnants of a semi permeant in too from 6 months ago so the hairdresser just did a bit more sp on the roots and put some face framing highlights in.

Help - it looks awful. What can I use on it?!!! It's so fine that heavy duty conditioners leave it really lank. It's just above my shoulders. Maybe I need to change to washing it every other day...

Thanks!

Can you use something a bit waxy/greasy on the ends only?

I have a similar problem (balayage and razor cut which has gone super-frizzy). On my way to a friend's for lunch it was frizzing up like mad and in desperation I popped into a corner shop and bought a little pot of vaseline (I didn't see any hair wax). I put a little smear of it on the palms of my hands and kind of scrunched it into the ends and that has helped it no end.

I haven't washed it in a week (to be fair I hurt my back so not doing much of anything to it right now). I just put a bit of dry shampoo on the roots and keep scrunching a bit of argan oil/hand cream/vaseline into the ends to keep them piecey and smooth. I'm also twisting pieces at night (fixing each with a kirby grip) so it has a little wave in it and isn't just frizzing up like random bed head.

It isn't a solution as such but it might get you through the worst of it.

Try Superdrug extracts coconut and sweet almond shampoo and conditioner.

I thought it would weigh down my hair but it's solved the dryness without greasiness at the roots. It's usually on BOGOF too so a complete bargain.

Thanks both. I will try oil at then ends and also washing it less and I'll get those superdrug products too - thanks!

Your hair sounds like mine. You need to stop washing it everyday, it sends the sebaceous glands into overdrive & makes the roots oily. Try batiste dry shampoo on the roots to extend the time between washing. I recommend the ones tailored to your hair colour. I also only use conditioner about once every 4 weeks.

I had the same problem after highlights. As an occasional treatment Philip Kingsley elasitzer improved it dramatically.
