Sheepskin slippers - ugg?

Tellmeanotherone · 19/01/2018 13:47

Has anyone got any sheepskin slippers? Uggs or emu or anything else?
Are they toasty and worth the ££s?

I normally get through a couple of pairs of slippers a year (cheap ones) but wondering if it's worth splashing out or if I'll just need to replace in 6 months?

This thread is quite old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for warm, cosy sheepskin slippers, we’ve recently updated our best women’s slippers page with lots of great options, as worn and loved by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

My husband gave me some Ugg slippers for Christmas about 3 maybe even 4 years ago and they are still amazingly comfortable and soft now. They are very hard wearing so more like very comfy house shoes/slippers. Perfect for nipping to the bins or garden if you need to quickly leg outside but sooooo warm and soft inside. Definitely an investment piece but worth it in my opinion x

You'll be wanting Celtic & Co slippers - best ever

Another vote for Celtic and Co - my lovely blue sheepskin booties are warming my feet as I type!

IsabelleSE19 · 19/01/2018 14:00

And yes, they last for ages - I am also addicted to the Celtic shearling flipflops for my summer slippers.

I have Just Sheepskin ones. They are expensive, but I love them!! So for me they are worth it - it's my little daily luxury. If we're talking ££'s per wear they're currently on 16p per wear and going strong.

I go it a pair as I worked for a company that sold them so got them at mega discount initially, but since then I now pay full price (actually, there's some at Debenhams, so get them on a blue cross weekend or similar).

I have had slippers from uggs, Celtic sheepskin and Shepherd over the years.

All pretty decent imo. I liked the uggs less because of the style I chose and didn't wear them much - gave them to DD when she grew into my size because it meant I could go back to Shepherd which outlast Celtic in my experience but are probably not as pretty/not much choice of colour.

Another vote for Celtic and co, I’m on my third pair in 6 years! I tried ugg previously, the inside wore to the lining within a month. Rubbish, never again

Outlookmainlyfair · 19/01/2018 14:14

I got some real sheepskin slippers from tkmaxx online for about £20. Still going well about 3 years later, looking almost as good as new.

TinselAngel · 19/01/2018 14:46

Another vote for Celtic and co. They are quite pricey, although less so than Ugg I should imagine. I'm about to buy my third pair. The previous two pairs both lasted me about 3 years. And I wear them a lot. Definitely worth it in a price per wear basis.

My just sheepskin ones have finally given up the ghost after 10 years of heavy wear. I’ve ordered te exactl same model to replace them.

Splandy · 19/01/2018 14:58

I am currently wearing just sheepskin ones, which I had as a gift two weeks ago, and the sole is coming off at the front! I wear slippers constantly but expect them to last much longer than that. I will be getting my husband to return them. Hopefully it’s a one off and they will replace them. Other than that, they have been extremely comfortable, really sturdy and warm. They have memory gel insoles and it is like walking around on little clouds.

I have Ugg slippers. Love them! Extremely toasty.

My mum's are 3 years old. I bought the brown ones this winter.

EggsonHeads · 19/01/2018 15:25

Emus don't last but uggs are good.

dontstopthepeach · 19/01/2018 15:37

Celtic & Co here too - I get about 3 years out of a pair and wear them for about nine months of the year. I buy them for the children too, and because they last so well we've got pairs that are on their fourth child.

PissedOffNeighbour · 19/01/2018 15:39

Celtic and Co here too - agree last about 3 years with daily wear Smile
