Has anyone had a Hollywood wax?

How humiliating was the experience?

Did you like it?

I'm getting my regular bikini wax tomorrow and my salon is offering a free HW for the price of of a regular wax. I'm terribly curious.

I'll post pictures later Wink
LOL

MuseumOfCurry · 18/01/2018 15:32

Ouch.
Ouch.
Ouch.
Ouch.

That's all, really.

Couldn't do the Hollywood, my lovely aesthetician wisely suggested we stop at Brazilian.

I am still a bit reeling.

OP, I did the same thing (stop halfway through). I had to put an ice pack on my bits when I got home. Grim.

IJoinedJustToPostThis · 18/01/2018 16:46

I tried it once.

Like you, OP, I found it so painful I asked the therapist to stop. And spent that evening lying on the sofa with an ice pack on my bits.

Never again.

MuseumOfCurry · 18/01/2018 17:10

It was a lot worse than I expected.

Has anyone had their areola waxed?

Husband doesn't know yet, this is so out of character for me he's going to think I'm having an affair Grin

It feels so good once its done and not as painful as you prepare yourself for it to be!

MrsXx4 · 18/01/2018 17:13

Oh missed the update!!

BuzzKillington · 18/01/2018 17:48

It shows you we all have different levels of tolerance.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest and I have a thick bush! Even the labia bits, which sometimes bleed a bit, I can carry on chatting without a wince.

My sister however, tried it once and ended up crying!

Areola? Waxed? I don't have hair there.

Vitalogy · 18/01/2018 17:54

Could be painful if you have piles Grin Not that they are a laughing matter.

BrimFire · 18/01/2018 21:10

Mine wasn't painful at all and certainly no bleeding labs.

I loved it. No shaving in awkward positions, no missed bits, slow regrow and no itching.

I was all " it's just about the porn look" before but had my first one at 45 and it was a revelation ( I am very dark and hairy). In fact now I feel I have only shaved my legs to fit some male idea of beauty. Going for hair free bits has really felt easier for the things I need to do.

halfwitpicker · 18/01/2018 21:48

Doesn't it itch like a bastard?

AManWalksIntoABarOuch · 18/01/2018 22:08

If you have hair on the inside of your bits do you have to lie there holding them open?

I've no intention of getting it done. I could cope with the pain and indignity but the itch!!!

Mcakes · 18/01/2018 22:58

Sorry to hear you sound it so painful Museum Sad
Feeling bad that I'm one of the ones that encouraged you to go ahead now!
It wasn't a conspiracy to get you to do it honest! Some of us genuinely don't find it very painful.
Hope you enjoy your Brazilian though Grin

MuseumOfCurry · 19/01/2018 11:52

Aw, Mcakes don't feel badly - I'm fine now, all recovered!

I don't think I love the way the Brazilian looks, it feels very porny and not me. Too early to say about how it feels, I'm still adapting to it. I haven't had sex yet, my parts were far too sore last night

I think I'd actually quite like the Hollywood, though - that probably sounds mad.

f you have hair on the inside of your bits do you have to lie there holding them open?

My aesthetician was so blase about it, she was just digging around there and doing what needed to be done. I was mortified, but she was clearly not.

BrimFire · 19/01/2018 16:30

Mine just makes me flop my leg to one side ( one side at a time) and gets on with it. I quite liked the warm wax if I'm honest..
Turned over and hold your cheeks apart. No all fours or knees around your ears.
No itchy bits at all and despite needing to shave my legs every 24 hours had no regrowth for weeks.

BrollyDolly · 19/01/2018 18:35

Can I just ask. How would you know if you've got an ingrown hair in your bum?

crackerjacket · 19/01/2018 19:05

Oh the indignity Grin

mimibunz · 19/01/2018 19:09

I’ve done it a couple of times. Hurt a bit but nothing you can’t handle. If you don’t like it then go back to your ‘normal’! 😀

AdalindSchade · 19/01/2018 19:39

Areola wax?! What for? I have a few black hairs on them but I tweeze them. Why would you wax?!

itsbetterthanabox · 19/01/2018 22:00

My legs itch like crazy when they grow back after waxing no matter how much I exfoliate.
Does the bikini do the same?

turophile · 19/01/2018 22:04

How much does it hurt? Compared to a leg wax or a tattoo (I have two on my feet and didn't think they hurt)? I really want a HW but I'm scared it will hurt a lot...

I've had neither a leg wax or a tattoo, so I couldn't say, but I thought this was maybe 10x as painful as a normal bikini wax.

They're getting too fine in my old age, something about them has changed that makes them bloody hard to pluck.

IJoinedJustToPostThis · 20/01/2018 10:28

Well, I epilate my legs and underarms, do full-contact martial arts for fun, was fine with tattoos and I found the HW absolutely intolerable...

Maybe I have really thick pubes and really sensitive skin?

woodlanddreamer · 20/01/2018 10:37

Hairs on the inside of your labia?? Who knew?
