Plain black sweater

Can anyone recommend a really good quality plain black sweater that will withstand a lot of washing? I’d like it to be quite thin so i can wear over tshirts, shirts or a dress but not sheer. Thanks

I hate to say the B word, but have b you looked at Boden? I got a cashmere mix black sweater from there years ago, it has been washed and washed and always looks good.

Thanks. I’ve seen so many that look good but i’ve seen many posters on here saying some of their favourite pricier options are no longer of good quality. Can you post a link of your Boden sweater?

Woolly jumper sweater or cottony sweater? What sort you after?

Uniqlo merino

Uniqlo cashmere. It's lasted for ages and I wash it in the machine.

Uniqlo merino.
Men’s if you want loose, women’s shorter and more fitted.
They wash and wash and wash.

Another one for Uniqlo merino - I wash mine in a normal 40 degree wash and it still looks great. Really good value and nice and light.

Another vote for uniqlo merino or Boden cashmere. Both wash well in the machine. M&S cashmere is good as well.

Thanks all. I’ll have a look at Uniqlo as it seems more affordable. If i’m a size 12/14 apple shape do you think a large will be nice and fitted? I don’t want it to be oversized nor skin tight.

A large in Uniqlo should be perfect for you.

A women’s large will be fine, they do shrink a bit.
