Can anyone help me with facial routine?

At the moment I just use something like Johnson's lotion or a babywipe or plain soap

Face - I would say oily but as I am nearly 40 drying lately.

Blackheads/ some acne but lately quite good. I have been using nip/fan pads and acnecide.

I have (stupidly hardly used) dermalogica clay mask, clinique toner, loreal cleansing milk the dermalogica microexfoliant and a la Roche posay scrub and efflaclar duo (spelling unsure of)

So I think I have all this stuff but I need a routine.

Do I use the mask say Monday and Friday ? How often to scrub. Should I steam and extract blackheads or just leave them be.

Should I get more nip/fab or will the efflaclar duo or toner do the same thing.

PS .. I appreciate any advice

HI Littlelamb

I am not an expert, but I have been looking after my skin for a long time and think it has paid off over the years. My routine is:

Cleanse (either a gentle face soap like a Micellar face wash or cleansing milk)
Tone
Serum
Moisturise (face, neck and eyes)

I have a Clarinsonic Mia so don't usually use scrub.

I give myself facials every 2 weeks:

Cleanse or wash
Scrub
Steam skin (I have a facial steamer)
Extract blackheads
Face mask
Tone, moisturise

The Dermalogoica mask and scrub is very good. I wouldn't use any of those things to wash your face. I am over 40 and I would use cleansing lotion and then remove it with cotton wool or a warm flannel or use a gentle wash. If I was you I would use up your stuff and then replace it with La Roche Posay which is very good.

I bought the dermalogica stuff after a facial (felt guilty about lack of regime) but Iove the la Roche stuff so I will move onto that.

Do you think a steam every two weeks is enough? I will do one tomorrow I think

I think so. You don't want to over stress your skin.
