Work bag

Morning
So I start a new job soon which will involve commuting by train and some walking. I need a smart bag which will fit laptop, papers, shoes, maybe some gym clothes though I could maybe carry a separate gym bag. I'm thinking over the body shoulder bag or preferably back pack but that might not be smart enough. Maybe I could have a back pack and add my over the body shoulder small bag too?
Any suggestions very welcome.

I’m a train commuter who carries similar volumes of stuff around with me and I’ve used Ollie & Nic bags for years. I love the fact they’re a bit different, and you can pick up some real bargains in their sales. The range of different sizes is enormous, so do measure up carefully before you order. Their delivery is super quick!

I use a long champ bag, fits all my work stuff, laptop etc. Smart, durable but not too expensive.

@Rufffles I think this might be the one for me!

Much less than I thought I'd pay too! Do you think it will look big? I'm 5ft 2 and a size 16. 🤦🏼‍♀️

@keepmoving I like but maybe not for work. I don't know how smart it will be everyone seems to dress down more these days.

Ooh, I like it. It’s a shame they don’t show a photo of it ‘in action’ (i.e. being worn) on their website!

I think it’ll look nice! And if you decide you don’t like it when it comes, I’m sure it’ll be straightforward to exchange or arrange a refund.

@Rufffles ordered it. Yes they do returns.
Thanks so much. I'm excited for its arrival.
Live Mumsnet. Would have taken ages online and in real life shopping!

Fingers crossed - hope you love it! And best of luck with the new job.

Update. Bag had arrived and is nowhere near big enough. It doesn't fit an A4 file in! Which is strange cause measurements suggest it should. Going to return.
Any other suggestion?

I use the longchamp as recommended above, they are very popular amongst smartly dressed commuters Id say, very durable too.
