Fitness gear for an apple shape?

Does anyone have recommendations for good looking fitness gear for an apple shape, at a cheapish price?

The stuff I have currently is too small of waist, or bought in Gap a million years ago - has lasted really well but is grey and saggy, not suitable for public consumption I fear. Gap don't seem to sell the same sort of thing any more.

I have a Bravissimo sports bra (G cup)

Looking for - a top, sleeveless non-racer back, long enough to cover my ample waist. And capri pants that don't ride down on the waist.

I like 100% cotton for comfort but it tends to wear into holes easily - and show sweat marks in the worst of places.

Have you checked out mail order firms? They might have larger sizes (at least compared to boutiques where you'd only expect the smallest sizes).

I'm not looking for a huge size - a 12, medium probably in most. I just have big boobs and all my weight sits on my tummy, such that I look pregnant when I'm not!

I buy everything from sports direct, karrimor stuff is brilliant and cheap as chips!

Thanks I took a look at their website but it's difficult to tell how things will fit from the pictures.

Hi, I'm a size 12 apple & I wear tops from H&M. They have one particular style that has slight ruching on one side, it's just enough to drape over the flabby bits and also to hold it in place when you do mountain climbers, crunches etc! I'm not sure what I will do if it's ever discontinued !

CrashBangWollop · 14/01/2018 09:06

@newsparklythings I find Karrimor true to size and very stretchy Grin

I'm interested in that ruched one from H&M, within. Can't see it on their website though Sad

No, neither can I - really disappointed, because I've not found anything as good.

Went to Sports Direct today, tried on a ton of things. With 4 year old DD in tow. Proclaiming loudly over the fitting room door 'mummy, you have a fat belly! And your boobies are really old!' Blush

Found 2 capri pants with super strong waistbands, they even begin to have me in denial about having a huge flabby waist, I wish they made work trousers like that.

Less luck with tops. The ones that I'm comfortable with around the waist show my sports bra around the sides. Ones that fit snugly round the boobs are hideous at the waist.

No H&M nearby but that ruched top sounds interesting if anyone has the link x

I don't know if this helps, because I do yoga and need to stay relatively warm....
I wear a sports bra as you do, with a (more clingy so as not to expose flesh when upside down) long sleeve top over, then a baggy t-shirt over the top.
You could maybe adapt this with t-shirt and racer back?

newsparklythings · 15/01/2018 09:12

Thanks mine, it could work for some. Me, I get very uncomfortable with anything other than a sleeveless top and low (ish) neckline. For cardio.
