Question about Brunette balayage

So, I bit the bullet and had balayage done on my hair today. Was fed up of trying to cover grey and thought balayage would help it blend, also wanted a change. Showed the hairdresser some pics and she convinced me to go lighter than I was initially planning as she said it would be too subtle. Well it's not turned out like we discussed and is in fact extremely subtle. The lighter bits are more coppery than I was expecting and not much of it. It's like the colours didn't take or weren't left on long enough.

I feel a bit deflated. It was done at an expensive salon with a good reputation for balayage.

My question is will the bleached bits/bits with toner get a bit lighter after a few weeks?

Yes, much lighter. Mine started off very subtle but it's gone lighter and lighter.

I would go back and say you arent happy with what you have. It sounds like the colour mix wasnt right for your hair.

Yes mine get lighter too - in fact too light by the time it needs redone .

Do your own, dye it and wait for the colour to grow out Wink

I think I was expecting it to be much more of a contrast to what I walked in there like and was looking forward to a real change. When she dried it and showed me I was underwhelmed. Perhaps it'll look different in a few days. At the moment I feel like I may as well have used a box dye at home.
