Help finding nice independent shops

I have just started a new job working for a newish purse brand. We make lovely leather purses. They come in a great range of colours and are very well made. They are reasonably priced at around £35 for a large purse to about £15 for a small coin purse. I won’t post a link as I am not after advertising, but I am looking for independent retailers across the uk. We have about 200 retailers at the moment but to continue to grow we need more. We are in ladies boutiques, shoe and hand bags shops as well as gift shops.
I would really appreciate any suggestions of these types of shops that mumsnetters like themselves. Just names and towns would be great.

I live in Hebden Bridge. There are LOADS of independent small shops. Have a Google and good luck!

OCSockOrphanage · 12/01/2018 10:17

In Devon, Totnes, Topsham and Tavistock are the right sort of demographic and good on independent retailers.

Squ1ggle · 12/01/2018 14:48

Clitheroe has quite a few independent clothes shops too I believe (it's a while since I've been)

Hoppinggreen · 12/01/2018 14:50

Lindley in HD3 (Huddersfield) has a few

Squ1ggle · 12/01/2018 14:50

BTW I'm in the market for a new purse. Do you sell online also? I understand that you don't want to name the brand but I'd be interested to have a look if you pm me

pud1 · 12/01/2018 15:03

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will get googling now.

SQU1GGLE - I have messaged you the link. Tell me what you think

They look lovely quality, good colour options and I like the embossed emblem. One bit of feedback that may be of use to you I'm quite particular about the inside of my purses so (although there is a detailed description) I would not buy a purse online without multiple pictures of the interior layout. Obviously if I could see them in a shop then that wouldn't be an issue

Tryingtogetitright · 12/01/2018 15:46

Petersfield has a few

chanie44 · 12/01/2018 15:49

There are lots of nice independent shops in Crystal Palace. Sorry, I can't name any specific shops.

100YearsOfVote · 12/01/2018 15:50

Chiswick W4 - several indie ladies boutiques.

pud1 · 12/01/2018 16:20

SQU1GGLE. Thanks for that I am pleased you like them. I am currently working with the web guy to make the site a bit easier. If you click on a colour you should be able to see the insides. I agree though, it should be on the initial picture gallery.

Aspire Style has shops in Solihull, Oxford, Stratford-Upon-Avon and Earlsdon. They sell some lovely things, including purses, bags etc

shushpenfold · 12/01/2018 17:22

Google where Waitrose shops are....they’re near to Independent schools in the vast majority of cases and therefore likely to have a few women with some extra cash to spend.

NB this is based upon pure conjecture and guess workGrin

shushpenfold · 12/01/2018 17:23

Sorry....point contd......which then leads to naice independent shops. Here endeth my laboured point!

MockneyReject · 12/01/2018 17:31

Blandford Forum and surrounding towns in N. Dorset. BF is pretty much ALL independents.

Market Harborough, Leics (home of Joules)

The Yards, Kettering, Northants.

Olney, Bucks.

Stamford.

All good for one off, independents.

babyboyHarrison · 12/01/2018 17:31

There are a few nice independent shops at Barton marina and heart of the country both on the A38 either side of Lichfield

Squ1ggle · 12/01/2018 17:44

Ah yes, I see that now. Agree it's not obvious

MinesaPinot · 12/01/2018 22:29

I live in West Kent. The independents I go to are in Sevenoaks (which has got 2 Waitrose Shush!), West Malling and Otford, all of which would fit your demographic.

Could you pm the link to me as well please?

idontlikealdi · 12/01/2018 22:31

shushpenfold · 12/01/2018 22:31

Clementine in Truro and fowey would be ideal. Smile

MinesaPinot · 14/01/2018 18:13

Thanks pud, I have had a look at the link and they look lovely. I agree with Squ1ggle - good colour choices and the leather looks good and soft. I also agree in that I like a lot of pictures when I am purchasing online as I like to see all round the product. Also, having been caught out before, an note of the weight would be useful as well.

Good luck!

Almostthere15 · 14/01/2018 19:03

I'm looking at the moment. Would you pm a link please.

I second aspire style.

SLRGPW · 14/01/2018 19:27

You could try some shops in Llandeilo and the Mumbles. Lots of independent shops around.

Then somewhere like Teddington or a shop in Church street in Twickenham.
