So, been looking in to retinol night cream (to be followed by an spf day cream). I want to give a really low percentage a go to start with. Most creams seem higher and super £££ but there's a cream at boots: super-facialist-retinol-anti-ageing-night-cream, 50ml, £20- which is only a low %. Is it any good? Is there another low % affordable one people can recommend?

Some mumsnetters rave about The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid. It only costs £8. I have such purchased it online from Cult Beauty. The Ordinary website is quite helpful in explaining their products.

It features in the MNHQ thread in S&B beauty heroes of 2017

Just looked that up. Thanks. So it's not in a cream but an oil you drop on to your face. Where and do then rub it in and add night moisturiser?

Sorry it’s not cheap but really the best one I’ve ever used is skinceuticals 0.3%. You can build up the strength as your skin gets used to it.
