I ordered a beautiful silver bracelet from Tictail and the seller is in France. Today I received an email asking me what my wrist size is... I think.... my Fenchurch is tres mal!

How snug should a bracelet be? How should I measure and god help the woman reading my pigeon French!!!

I vaguely have wrist circumference plus 2cms stored in the back of my head. May be completely wrong though Blush Would it not be easiest to just measure the circumference of a similar bracelet style that fits as you'd like it?

Laquila · 10/01/2018 22:50

If you post the email here I can help translate it...but I have no idea how one would calculate one’s bracelet size! Botemp’s suggestion is good though.

I don’t actually have a bracelet- I’ve been hinting at dh for the past few birthdays/christmases and finally taken the matter into my own hands!!

Thank you for your order. Would you like hand engraving on the little medallion (max 4 characters). At also your wrist size? Thank you in advance for your response.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/01/2018 09:11

Sorry, and also your wrist size?

I haven’t an idea how you measure wrist size - maybe just give her your wrist circumference in centimetres and let her work it out?

yummycake123 · 11/01/2018 09:16

Yes, tour de poignet would just be your wrist measurement in cms.

Maybe you can ask a jewellery shop to measure it for you? or you could use a string and measure the circumference.

www.llulecreations.com/blog/choisir-ses-bijoux/mesurer-son-tour-de-poignet.html#!/

Pour un porter "taille exacte": utilisez votre mesure.
Pour un porter "prés de la peau": ajoutez 1 à 1,5cm à votre mesure.
Pour un porter "ample": ajoutez 1,5 à 2cm à votre mesure

So if you want an exact fit, just send your wrist measurement. If you want it medium (close to the skin - don’t know the colloquial translation!) then add 1 to 1.5cm to your wrist measurement. If you want ample space, then add 1.5 to 2cm.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/01/2018 09:20

Personally I wouldn’t go for an exact fit with a bracelet - I prefer them to have some movement. Depends on the bracelet style, though! I’d probably go for wrist circumference plus at least 1.5cm, but explain to her that you’ve already added the extra on, just in case she then adds it again!

zippyswife · 11/01/2018 11:29

Oh thank you so much for all the help. I really appreciate that!

I will measure my wrist and give her my wrist measurement and ask to and add 1.5cm as I still want it fairly close.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot- does this sound kind of correct-

bonjour.

Je pense que je veux pas la gravure. Mon tour de poignet est 16cm. Ajoutez 1.5cm svp.

Merci beaucoup
