I want black jeans and have bought bloody loads of them but they all very quickly fade to grey. Any recommendations? TIA

Dylon black dye. Bung it in the washing machine with your black jeans and they come out as good as new.

It was recommended on here and I took the advice and redyed DD's black jeans. It worked brilliantly.

I bought mine from Wilkinsons.

ONLY, if you can get those on e.g. Zalando from the UK. Or if there are actual stores in the UK.

wheresthel1ght · 07/01/2018 22:03

Thanks for the dylon tip! Do. I need to do anything special or just chuck it in?

Spurtle · 07/01/2018 22:12

Ooh, Dylon, never thought of that. This could be a game changer! Grin Does it fade too? Would I need to keep redoing it?

Dixie, it took my brain a while to process your sentence, have never heard of ONLY. Thanks for the recommendation.

I often dye faded black clothes. It works really well.

CharizMa · 07/01/2018 22:18

mint velvet black biker jeans. Mine have been through the wash 20 times (approx) and still look new.

KMoKMo · 07/01/2018 22:19

The dye doesn’t ruin the machine??

dutysuite · 07/01/2018 22:19

The only way to keep them black is to wash them inside out on a cold wash and low spin.

Sofabitch · 07/01/2018 22:20
  1. Make sure you're using for colour wash power
  1. Dylon

Zara’s black skinnies, £25. Mine are still as black as they were when I bought them. I know this, as I love them so much I bough a spare pair and the only difference is the spare pair still has labels on.

Mrsrobinson82 · 07/01/2018 22:21

River island black molly jeans. I’ve tried 100’s...they’re by far the best.

Freshprincess · 07/01/2018 22:22

My oasis ones have lasted quite a while. I always wash them inside out.
Dylon is a great tip though, wouldn't have considered doing that.

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 07/01/2018 22:22

My sister said Topshop do a range where if they fade you'll get a refund. Or something.

PS I was only half listening

Aria2015 · 07/01/2018 22:23

Yup Dylan black dye. I usually use it the first sign of fading and then they stay nice and black. The dye is only around £5 so much cheaper than throwing away a pair of faded jeans.

TacoFlavouredKisses · 07/01/2018 22:27

The Dylon Wash & Dye stuff is fantastic - I've used a pack to do a pair of jeans and trousers in one go with no issues. Just lob everything in the machine with the powder (directly into the drum), run on the recommended cycle, add detergent when it's finished and run again and everything's as good as new! Definitely doesn't wreck the machine! You can pick it up for about 2.99 from Home Bargains.

LoniceraJaponica · 07/01/2018 22:32

Just follow the instructions on the packet, and it doesn't wreck the washing machine at all.

BullshitSandwich · 07/01/2018 22:35

Dylan is fab, I use the indigo one every year or so on my faded blue jeans. Brings them back up beautifully. Have done my black jeans too!

BullshitSandwich · 07/01/2018 22:35

dylon. Bloody autocorrect.

BikeRunSki · 07/01/2018 22:38

Yep, Dylon. I do a “back to Black” and “back to navy” wash about once a year. Once something has been Dylon’ed, it never needs doing again. You used to have to add salt to Dylon machine wash, but I think it’s all in now.

BikeRunSki · 07/01/2018 22:41

better link

FizzmasXx · 07/01/2018 22:44

Newlook jeggings comfortable nice skinny fit and high waisted so no need to keep pulling up I have had mine like two years Blush and they only just started to fade now.. don't think dylon is replacing these

time for new ones

MrsDub · 07/01/2018 22:51

Great experience with Gap's "Stay Black" swishy technology, +6 months being washed not inside out and tumbled and still jet black

LifeWillFindAWay · 07/01/2018 22:58

Next, four way stretch.
