How did you choose an engagement ring?

I’m in the process of choosing an engagement ring. I found one today I really love, but I’m so scared to commit to it! It’s a beautiful ring, but very expensive and what if I change my mind? I’m going to be wearing it for the next 70 years!

How did you know yours was the one?

I knew I wanted something with diamonds in a rub-over setting (not a fan of claws). Although I like vintage rings, it needed to be bomb-proof, as I'm quite hard on jewellery. After trawling round various shops I found one in quite liked in a chain jeweller, but it wasn't quite right.

On a whim, I went to John Lewis, of all places, and found the perfect ring. Two diamonds, off-set, with a curvy gold band. Just "me". I had a wedding band custom made to fit against it. I've been wearing it for 16 years and not bored with it yet.
