Help me find this jacket in a size 10

I posted recently about my search for a burgundy leather jacket. Finally ordered this one from mint velvet in size 8 but it feels too tight and I think I need a size 10 which seems sold out everywhere. Just wondering whether anyone could keep a look out on the off chance that one comes back into store somewhere. Anywhere.

I'm so gutted. It's a lovely jacket and the perfect colour for me. But just too tight...gah!

They stretch quite a bit, so you’re generally supposed to size down.

I’ve got one from Mint Velvet that has stretched a fair bit, so if you love it I’d keep it and wear it a lot and just wait for it to relax a bit.

It is lovely OP.

I'm unsure about MV but I bought a leather jacket from Oasis which was slightly too tight at the time but the shoulders fitted better than the next size up. Unfortunately I put up a few pounds and now can't wear it at all. If it feels difficult to do up or tight across the shoulders, I'd return it If it just feels tighter than you'd usually wear but you can raise your arms up as if to reach for something overhead (e.g. plane overheads), I'd keep it!

Yes I think it falls into the first camp. I can do it up. just. But not comfy. Haven't tried arms overhead. A good tip though. Will keep an eye on eBay etc

It Looks perfect to me , yo don't really do leather jackets up and it will give 🤷‍♀️

Mulberrysilk · 06/01/2018 20:20

If you ring MV customer services or message them on their Facebook page they'll try to source one through their stores. I have found them pretty helpful.

rightknockered · 06/01/2018 20:58

Mine start off tighter than your's OP
Give it time

Theshipsong · 06/01/2018 20:58

I always zip up my leather jackets and usually wear with a scarf. I don’t wear them ince the weather gets any way warm though.

Cbaanymore123 · 06/01/2018 20:59

Try depop

Cbaanymore123 · 06/01/2018 21:01

Tbh it fits you nice in the pic I think baggy leather jackets look to 70-90's

Or like myra McQueen from holly oaks .

Theshipsong · 07/01/2018 10:38

Baggy isn’t a good look I agree but being unable to zip it is pointless too. Leather jackets aren’t summer wear so it is good to have the option to wear it zipped.

It could be that the particular shape of that jacket doesn’t fit your body shape. I have some clothes where the smaller one is just too small and the bigger size is too big. It is a lovely jacket though!

HolgerDanske · 07/01/2018 10:43

Most leather jackets look better undone anyway. Wear it with a blanket scarf and you should be fine and warm enough.

Mine from MV has stretched by at least a size.

If you really don’t like the fit then yes, I guess you should return it, but it honestly looks about right on the photo, and it’d be a shame to miss out on a perfect jacket when it’ll likely fit you perfectly within one season’s wear!

Theshipsong · 07/01/2018 10:53

Most leather jackets look better undone

In your opinion!

I have three leather jackets. Two of them look better done up. One looks better undone.

IMO leather jackets undone in winter whilst wearing outside are on a par with wearing ballet style shoes in winter.

HolgerDanske · 07/01/2018 11:00

Yes, it’s my opinion. That’s a given, why on earth would I state someone else’s opinion? And why on earth does it being my opinion make it somehow invalid? Confused

We all state our opinions/advice and OP gets to decide what she wants to do with the relevant information given to her and the opinions different people have. Happy times!! Surely that’s the point of a forum.

smilingartichoke · 07/01/2018 14:20

Well I did return the size 8 as I could barely move my arms! And I would like the option of doing the zip up at the bottom at least. I've been stalking Mint Velvet online all weekend to see whether they have had any post-Christmas returns in size 10...and they have!! Have just ordered one for delivery next weekend. Will let you know how it pans out. Fingers crossed...

Keep an eye on the job Lewis website , I work there are there are always returns of items like these.

Theshipsong · 07/01/2018 15:57

You are lucky OP. I’ve been stalking the Arket website for my size in a jumper for weeks now to no avail!

Let us know how it fits. Hopefully it isn’t just a case of the leather being hard but I’d expect at the full price of the MV one, it should be soft enough.
