How to use Majirel? HELP pleeeease

Hi everyone,

So after reading through old threads on here, I noticed that Majirel was highly recommended to cover grey hair. So I went ahead and ordered myself Majirel in 5.32, some peroxide, latex gloves and a bowl and brush.

Now before I go ahead with using it, I have a few questions that I am unsure of and was wondering if any Majirel users can help me pleeeeease?

So a little background, I have dark hair, very dark brown and have a lot of white hair on my front and have this thick ‘badger stripe’ running from the front to the back.

I have always coloured my hair using permanent nice and easy golden brown shades, but started to use the dark brown shade (can’t emember which shade it was exactly), as the ‘goldeny’ shades were not covering my grey, more like white hair, anymore. So the bottom of my hair is quite dark.

Anyhow the questions I have are:

  1. Do I need to use a base colour with the 5.32?

  2. will the 5.32 give me root glow, or make my white badger stripe glow with just the 5.32?

  3. can I apply the colour to my whole head all in one go or do I need to apply to roots first and then let it down with water for the last 15/20 mins?

  4. Do I have to shampoo after washing out the colour or can I just rinse out the colour without following with a shampoo?

Sorry for the super long post, but I really want to get this right the first time as I’ve lived with this badger stripe for too long and having young kids, I just don’t have the time to keep redoing it.

Ps would love to get it professionally done, but unfortunately, budget just won’t allow.

Majirel user here.

I can't help with root glow question, but I'm pretty sure you don't need a base colour.

The first time I coloured mine, after years of using nice and easy cool medium brown, I coloured the roots and then ran the colour through the rest of the hair for the last 15 mins as I wanted to avoid more colour build up. Now I just do the roots only unless my colour needs refreshing - maybe only once a year if that.

You need to rinse and shampoo/condition.

Good luck - I find the Majirel works really well, it's easy to apply and is very long lasting. Much better than box colours

Ah thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

What colour do you use in Majirel? Also, do you use a particular ‘colour friendly’ shampoo/conditioner after colouring your hair?

Can’t wait to get rid of this badger stripe lol 🙈

I think I use cool cover 5.1 - basically an Ash brown.

I just use my regular shampoo and conditioner which is an osmo one rather than one from the high street.
