Has anyone got a shoulder length or longer blunt cut? Do you like it? What’s maintenance like?

I’m bored of my hair and fancy a change from my layers - any input welcome!

I've got one but I have very thick straight hair, it

MrsMarigold · 04/01/2018 16:23

Is totally low maintenance for me, I wash it, blowdry in four minutes it is sleek and perfect.

YouCantArgueWithStupid · 04/01/2018 16:25

I've got past the shoulders length hair with a blunt cut. My hair is fine, lots of it and can be really frizzy. I've found it's the best my hair has looked in a long time, whether I style it or not

SummerRoberts · 04/01/2018 16:28

I'm trying to get there and growing my layers out. My hairdresser cuts the bottom straight across and takes the tiniest bit off my layers so they still grow and hopefully it will all have evened out soon.
It's made my hair look much thicker and doesn't seem to be any extra maintenance. My hair length is about touching my bra down my back.

Thanks everyone! Is anyone brave enough to post a pic? Or a google image of something like it? x

yes i have. i've got very thick wavy almost curly hair and i was too scared to get a proper bob so it's shoulder length and blunt. i love it it feels very fresh (or it did I'm going in for a shorter version next week). i'll post pics! as for maintaining it's much the same as my long hair. it's not short enough to spring up (but soon!)

I have one - had my layers chopped out in September-ish? I’m swapping back to layers tomorrow though.

GinasGirl · 04/01/2018 21:45

I grew out my layers and have a blunt cut. I love it, so much easier to style, and looks sleeker too.

Honey1975 · 04/01/2018 21:54

What is this? Is it where it's cut straight across the back? I've grown my layers almost fully out and my hair is the longest it's been in ages. But I find it hard to do anything with. It's thick and tends to frizz. It just hangs with no style. I'm wondering what to ask for at my next hairdresser appt soon.

Jenala · 04/01/2018 21:59

I've had my chest length hair recently cut into a kind of long blunt bob. Originally shoulder length but now just above. I love it. Shortest I've ever had it! It's angled so it's slightly longer at the front. I do tend to straighten it as I have wavy-ish hair and it flicks otherwise but the short length means it doesn't take long at all.

Volumising powder is my go to product now. Lifts it and gives it that lovely thick, blunt look. Can't get to grips with my curling iron though unfortunately, I dream of hair like babigail. When I just burn my neck and put ridge in my hair Grin

babigailwabble · 04/01/2018 22:04

@Honey1975 my hairdresser literally took clippers to my hair to get it so blunt 👀

seefeld · 05/01/2018 08:02

I’ve got fine hair but lots of it and have had a blunt cut bob for a while now. It’s slightly longer at the front. I tend to either tong it to get waves or use salt spray or air dry cream to add texture and enhance the natural wave. Looks like this, same colour as well, but this isn’t me!

I had a blunt cut a couple of months ago, after years of layers. Really like it.

I had it just before a job interview, it made me look so competent and professional that I got the job!

BUT it does make me look older : which isn't a bad thing because I look a bit young really.

squoosh · 05/01/2018 16:36

I have a long one length bob. I have very straight hair so it gives it extra swish. No flyaway bits.

misscheery · 05/01/2018 17:31

Getting rid of layers was the best thing I've ever done! I bloody love it!
