Recommend me a foundation

Day to day I don't wear foundation, just a little powder as I've got good skin. I do use foundation when I'm going 'out out' and aiming for full glam, or when my skin does need that bit of lift.

I've got a bottle of Rimmel Match perfection, which is fine, but it's old.

Over the last few years I've upgraded all of my other foundation but I've left the foundation as it seems like a hassle!

So I need something light to medium coverage, available in very very pale. I have some high end make up, I'm not afraid of spending money on it but it seems a waste for something I wear maybe once a month?

My skin is good, I get shiny around my nose and chin but no major issues with pores or redness etc. I'm 30, no fine lines just yet!

I was considering bare minerals however... Ive got a really hairy face Blush lots of blonde down on my jaw line and upper lip (between removals!) so I have to be careful with powders as it sometimes sticks to it.

Any recommendations? Can be powder, cream, both, neither?! I don't know where to start.

The best foundation I’ve found is from wilkos (Essence is the range) at around £3.60. It sounds like it should be terrible but it works for me better than all my £50+ foundations, is very buildable but doesn’t give that caked look. You could always add lightening drops if needed but I found it matched my pale skin very well.

I would try Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. It's weightless, looks like nothing on, light to medium coverage and the shade range is very good.

I've got 2 favorites Benefit hello oxygen wow which is very light weight, slightly glowy and generally very pleasant to use, I use this day to day and I'd say it's a dewy but not greasy finish. My other one Diorskin star is slightly thicker and is build able, it is also glowy but not glittery. It's very good quality and it's one I turn too when I want a bit more of a finished polished look. To me it has a more velvety finish but not matt.

YSL Touche Eclat foundation is lovely- lightweight, medium coverage that can be worn as light if you prefer. Slightly dewy but not oily. Comes in very good paie tones (I use BR10 which is a cool toned very pale). Mineral foundation wise I use Lily Lolo which I find sits better than the Bare Minerals (make sure you moisturise well and possibly use a primer to make it look more natural)- colour wise I use porcelain.

Chanel do some lovely ones too, however they are very much geared towards warm tones so I've never found a match which is a shame. If you're warm toned pale then the Velvet and the Aqualumiere are nice.

Btw I have normal to dry sensitive fair skin, I'm 39 with not many wrinkles but obviously not completely wrinkle free! 😂

I'm really pale. In summer, if I've had a bit of sun, I can usually just about get away with the palest "high street" shades - Maybelline etc. However in winter I need to get foundation from either Illamasqua or Lancome. Currently I use Lancome, some of their foundations go as pale as 005. Also they have some really dark shades which is unusual. Illamasqua are good as they offer a white (I think) so you can lighten a foundation to suit.

I'm cool toned, BTW - I wear Lancome 007 in winter.

If you want something light coverage MAC Waterweight foundation has light coverage and a beautiful glowy radiant finish. They have super pale colours and will give you samples. I would put concealer underneath it in any areas you need.
