Size 9 Formal Flat Sandals

I've just had the exciting news that I might be able to go to a very formal posh event this summer and I need flat shoes to withstand a day on my feet.

The last similar event I attended was Ascot and I wore low ish heels but was in agony quite quickly. This is a similar style event, formal dress, hats etc. but I don't want to make the same mistake again with my footwear!

I am UK size 9 with wide feet! I need (as inexpensive as poss!) flat sandals that would complement a formal outfit (outfit can come after the shoes!).

I realise it is totally out of season now but I was hoping for some recommendations or gems of wisdom!

Would a low wedge work? They can look more elegant than flat.

Not always the most stylish but I've found Amazon have a lot of size nine shoes. EBay is another place to look.

Next online do size 9s and have some wide fittings.

I have similar size and shape feet. JD Williams and Simply Be, New Look and Zalando are all good for bigger sized shoes.

Wouldn't it be great if size 9's were more available in the actual shops. My teenage DD finds it so difficult to shop for shoes and often is met with no option but the men's department on the high street or to order online.
