I have an interview for a teacher training post next week and I’m struggling to figure out what to wear!

I own zero smart clothes! And honestly never feel very comfortable in smart clothes, so it’d be good not to wear a suit!

I bought some navy blue chinos In then next sale last week which I think will look nice with black or tan brogues. What do you think?

I also bought a next smart sleeveless grey top off eBay, but I’m struggling with the lack of sleeves and wondering if something underneath would work, and if so, what?! Any ideas?

I also like the look of a shirt such as jack wills as it’s fitted but not a blouse (but thicker), it’s blue and white striped and thought it’d look good with the tan brogues?.... or too casual?

The shirt or top would look ok with the chinos and brogues if you had a blazer type jacket.

Yeah, I was thinking or a blazer. I like the wool blend ones though, in grey or blue.

I’m really not a fan of black!

That is nice, thanks. Although it might be a bit too fussy for me.

I’m not a teacher but I do work in a similar environment. I like to wear slim fitting shirts of a longish length, untucked, with a sweater or fine knit jumper over the top. I push the sleeves up a little towards my elbow but have the shirt sleeves a little longer than the jumper sleeves, and then the bottom of the shirt pokes out below the jumper too. With smart trousers, brogues or flat ankle boots, and a chunkyish necklace that sits below the shirt collar/on the jumper.

It looks smart but not overly formal and it’s quite stylish.

That sounds great plimsoles kinda what I’m thinking, but worried that it’s too casual.
Thanks
