Anybody have a Mulberry Antony?

Tempted to treat myself to an 'old style' Antony as they're in the sale.

Not sure what size to go for though, on the website they are styled on a male & advertised as unisex.

Any ladies use one? What can you fit in the smaller version?

Or can you recommend an alternative? I'm after a leather cross body bag in oak / tan.

My favourite! Smile
Very practical. There are several sizes though so you'll need to decide which one is best for you.

I tried a small one I store the other day and it would fit a purse, phone and probably a small diary. There wasn’t a large one to try, but very tempted to buy the larger one in the sale as the quality of new style Mulberry leather just doesn’t seem the same.

As pp. it’s very handy. I’ve seen more women use them than men.

I think mine is the small and it fits my phone, purse, keys, couple of lipsticks and small perfume etc in.

Thecstrap is very long but adjustable so great for all shapes and sizes.

I've had mine for 8 years and it's still going strong. It's the smaller of the two (at least there two sizes when I got mine). It's well-work but look loved. I have phases of using it then resting it for a while. I find it good for everyday stuff, phone, purse, keys, diary, tissues, lip balm, various small children's toys and the obligatory box of raisins!!

I see a lot of them where I live.

dramallamakarma · 03/01/2018 17:36

Thanks for the replies, I did spot a similar style in M&S last year but the colour & quality were not the same.

I'm tempted by the larger of the two at the moment, was just a bit worried it would look too manly.

I don't mind it being popular, at least it proves they last.... just need to make a decision now!

I've got two!

NumbersRule · 03/01/2018 18:26

I’ve got 2 ask well, both the smaller version - one in black and one in oak. The black one I have had years and only a few months ago decided to get an oak one. The one that is now reduced!

I find that the size is great and it means I don’t wonder why I have a bad back after carrying bigger bags that I stuff full.

hendricksyousay · 03/01/2018 18:37

I've got the Seth which is similar to the large Antony . I have the Clifton for a smaller bag as the small Antony doesn't fit much in . It's a good practical bag in my opinion .

hevonbu · 03/01/2018 18:51

The Alexa isn't bad either, but I don't have it.

SloanePeterson · 03/01/2018 18:55

I've had both but sold the larger one as like a pp I have a problem with overfilling bags and it giving me back trouble. The small one works well for all I need to carry in it, never gives me any back pain, and tbh it being small means I'm not lugging about all the unnecessary crap my other bags are constantly filled with (toys, tissues, biscuits, wipes etc even though all my dc are school age Blush)

hevonbu · 03/01/2018 19:12

They're terribly expensive though, but in the long run cheaper than buying bag after bag of cheap bags of fake leather on a discount.

Clickncollect · 03/01/2018 22:22

I bought the small black one in the sale and have been using it for the last two days.
I'm really pleased with it - fits everything I need in there. It's a classic so I'll wear it for years.

dramallamakarma · 03/01/2018 22:35

So now I'm thinking the smaller one. I still need to carry a changing bag at the moment when with DCs so it would just be for my stuff & to use when I escape them.

Might give my closest outlet store a call & see if they have any in, anyone know if they'd be reduced even further in the outlets?

I don't think they're ever truly on sale as they're so popular and classic. Don't miss it.

honeylou42 · 04/01/2018 07:11

I have the large Oak Antony and I'm so pleased I went for the larger size, I don't think it looks to masculine and I can fit so much more in it.

nandaandm · 04/01/2018 07:14

I have the large in black. I love it. Fit purse, make up, phone & keys with still room to spare. I think I'll get the oak, seen it in the sake and I still have some Christmas money.

rogue8 · 04/01/2018 07:19

I remember when they were under £150 albeit 10 yrs ago!

sausagerollsrock · 04/01/2018 07:33

I've got the large. So glad I went for it. It fits loads. Don't regret getting that size at all.

FundayMorning · 04/01/2018 10:54

Just seen the price of them! Shock I'm sure mine was about £175 8 yrs ago.

Dancergirl · 04/01/2018 23:54

You can't get much in the small size. I have the large and use it loads.

Savemyface · 05/01/2018 02:31

I’ve got the larger size it fits a large purse, umbrella, perfume, gloves and various other rubbish that I accumulate and it doesn’t look misshapen or bulky.
A colleague got the smaller size and rarely uses it due to not being able to fit much in it without it looking lumpy and over stuffed.

For context of size I’m 5ft7 size 12 and it doesn’t look overly big/masculine. My cousin also has the large and she’s 5ft and size 6 and it still looks fine on her small frame
