I've just bought a teddy bear type coat from Next. Is there any hope for me or am I doomed in the fashion world? I actually really love it too. Blush

Pauline Fowler Grin

Are you wearing galoshes?

I you like it - wear it!

CountessofGrantham · 03/01/2018 17:53

Call yourselves Style and Beauty? Paddington has a red hat... 🙄Grin

Fekko · 03/01/2018 17:56

The original one was black I think, but my 1970s PB had a red coat and blue wellies (and a brown hat). I was such a rebel...

Hoppinggreen · 03/01/2018 17:59

You look a bit like my Golden Retriever in that.

formerbabe · 03/01/2018 18:22

I honestly think it's fine and looks ok. I think it looks completely dreadful with the boots though...as individual items the boots and coat are nice enough but worn together, it creates quite a frumpy look.

lindyloo57 · 03/01/2018 18:32

i ordered the navy one just before christmas, but when it came it was to big, did you find you had to go down a size ?.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/01/2018 18:41

I think it's the colour that's the biggest problem.

CakeNinja · 03/01/2018 18:56

Looks exactly like a dressing gown to me, but as pps have pointed out, dressing for warmth is more important than anything else, so roll with it!

neveradullmoment99 · 03/01/2018 19:02

Lose the wellies and you will be fine.

SimplyNigella · 03/01/2018 19:58

I’m a big fan of warmth and comfort and am the proud owner of an oversized fluffy coat myself. I think you have to be really careful with the rest of your outfit. This is my coat on the model, I tend to style it in a similar way. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I like it.

I would glam it up with a velvet maxi and a colourful scarf looped round. Boho-ish.

AFingerofFudge · 03/01/2018 20:05

Thanks for all the comments, some have really made me laugh. I wouldn't wear those boots with it, just happened to be wearing them when I was in the shop.
It's a keeper. I'm wearing it already, sitting in the car park waiting to to take DS1 to the gym.
It is quite big by the way. I sized down.

Eek I'm sorry but I really dont like it

StylishMummy · 03/01/2018 20:14

If it's warm & comfy then that's the important thing!

AnnieAnoniMouse · 03/01/2018 20:20

It’s far less offensive than most items posted in S&B 😂

People actually ‘style’ what they wear with their coats?! I put mine on over whatever I’m wearing, to keep me warm. I’m not changing my clothes to suit my COAT. 😂

SilverHawk · 03/01/2018 21:28

My DD has a lovely black on from Zara, (I think). That is what she bought when looking for a waterproof parka/anorak! I like it but it's a fat lot of good when you live on the coast Grin She'll learn.

HuskyMcClusky · 03/01/2018 21:33

a group of random strangers in your computer

Are you my mum? 😂

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/01/2018 21:41

Probably, Husky. Lucky you!

monkeywithacowface · 03/01/2018 21:44

This thread has made me laugh! Pauline Fowler and a group of strangers in your computer Grin Grin

Cbaanymore123 · 03/01/2018 21:48

Omg seen this today I love it!

With skinny jeans and ankle boots would be fabbbbbb

AlmostChristmas · 03/01/2018 21:49

One word- Functional

Anniethinggose · 03/01/2018 21:55

No, no you have not.
Comfy and on trend, and in the sale. What's not to like?! I wanted one but can't justify spending on another coat (I seem to have a thing about coats lately).

RoderickRules · 03/01/2018 22:47

Hard to say without seeing your hair and face...my 14 year old DD was attracted to it but with her colouring the coat would wear her...too similar.

Try a messy bun with it.
Your favourite scarf.
Stay cosy!

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 03/01/2018 23:26

I saw this in Next today ... in pink. I did stroke it a few times but I didn't buy it.

PickAChew · 03/01/2018 23:28

I owuld say it looks warm and snuggly, but unfortunately all the bits that get cold, like the neck, appear to be rather gappy.

I'm all for warm and snuggly, though.
