Is it appropriate to wear shorts for work? (Office based)

So I've seen some black tailored shorts in the Reiss sale and was wondering if this sort of thing would be appropriate with tights and flat shoes for work in an office?

I often wear shorter dresses and skirts, always with tights and either heels or flats, but I'm not sure whether I could get away with shorts without looking like I was on a night out!

Not appropriate at all.

I work with a colleague who wears shorts this type of length, it’s just so wrong, especially as a teacher (and it wasn’t an INSET or mufti day!)

It’s a bad look on kids, let along adults, unless they are sports shorts and you are doing sport!

You know the rule of thumb - if you're not sure, then it's no.

Shorts with opaques are fine in a creative office / studio.
But I still think those specific ones are too short. Sorry.

Looking for a longer pair now!
