Jeans without hems

I've bought 2 pairs of jeans from Zara online & they have arrived...both with unhemmed (fraying) hems - is this a thing or should I be hemming them (need an old gimmer emoticon here I think).

They are as they're meant to be. How did they look in the photo?

unhemmed when you look closely...not complaining, just checking what the intention is.
