Blogger who wear cos?

Zeldaaa · 01/01/2018 22:28

I’ve seen quite a few recommendations for COS on here.

Having looked at their website to it all looks very glum, perhaps due to the models. I don’t have a COS near me. Are there any bloggers who often wear COS so I can get an idea of what the clothes look like?

Ooh good question Smile

ArkAtEee · 01/01/2018 23:16

ThatsNotMyAge (on blog and Instagram) wears that kind of thing. Although, saying that, I had to go back to Oct 30th to see it featured on her Instagram.

mrsmildred · 02/01/2018 08:20

On Instagram search for Brittany Bathgate. She has a blog but doesn't often post. Look at who Instagram recommends when you follow her, there are loads of similar who wear lots of Cos, they tend to favour a more minimalist or simple block colour style, quite utilitarian. I love it buts its not a mainstream fashion and sometime even their styling can be a bit hardcore for everyday wear.

ilovecherries · 02/01/2018 09:10

Came to say Brittany Bathgate - she seems to have picked up her blogging again. I'm not really slim enough for the look - far too big boobs - but I do love the lines. I'm waiting for a Cos sale order at the moment, usually they are fast, but that's well over a week and not dispatched yet - getting impatient :)

pigeondujour · 02/01/2018 11:28

Go and have a look at the photos that Cos are tagged in on Instagram (their name is cosstores). Bloggers and some normal people outfit tag their photos so you can see where things are from.

thedevilinablackdress · 02/01/2018 13:41

@mandajrt on Instagram or #cosstores

Gwynfluff · 02/01/2018 16:08

Stylememos wears quite a bit of cos

Elementally · 02/01/2018 16:13

I read on here that they don't advertise through bloggers so that's why you rarely see their stuff on social media. I'm a big fan. The quality of the knitwear is good and not expensive in the sales.

mrsmildred · 02/01/2018 16:36

Elementally I read that, its an absolute crock and only serves to show how much our internet use profiles, filters and shows us what we look for as opposed to what is actually available.

The bloggers discussed on that thread are only a very narrow section of the fashion blogging market i.e. middle-aged mums wearing mainstream trends from the main high street shops (and various gifted small businesses but lets leave that to the other thread). So they might not wear much Cos because it doesn't fit their style but it is a complete untruth to say it doesn't feature on social media very much AT ALL.

Whether they gift or pay social media "influencers" vom or not I don't know but as a PP suggested, search for the hashtag and their stuff is widely documented.

Sorry, I don't mean to attack you, just reacting to the misinformation on the previous thread.

mumobsessedwithdamp · 02/01/2018 17:10

@mrsmildred - I wrote the comment on cos on the previous thread. Several bloggers I follow (that aren’t mums or middle aged!) used to feature cos much more heavily when they weren’t full time bloggers and virtually never feature it now they have “monetised” their blogging. That may just be chance though - I have asked MNHQ to remove my comment on my previous thread as I don’t want to mis-influence others with what I have observed!

Elementally · 02/01/2018 17:13

So just mum bloggers they don't want then? They want to be more high fashion or something? Can't say I blame them but they sell lovely warm comfy sweaters that suit my mum uniform perfectly Smile

mrsrhodgilbert · 02/01/2018 17:20

Interesting to hear someone else is still awaiting a Cos sale order. I've had an email to apologise for the delay but nothing else. Annoyingly I was in the Leeds store last week and could have picked my item from the rails.

mrsmildred · 02/01/2018 17:45

mumobsessedwithdamp sorry, nothing personal to you either, just your comment resonated as I find the wider context interesting; all the profiling, algorithms used etc..essentially our internet use is so minutely tailored to our personal preferences nowadays, we think everyone sees the same thing but we don't. Always interesting to have to use an internet cafe on holiday or somewhere, I'm amazed at what comes up on Googles first page sometimes!

In this (minor) case, look at the leap which has been made: xyz bloggers don't wear Cos ergo Cos doesn't feature on social media. Just not true.

Sorry, not helping the OP any am I!

redavocado · 02/01/2018 17:52

Try Spruced. She's a fashion journalist based in Berlin and wears lots of Cos and similar brands.

ilovecherries · 02/01/2018 18:49

MrsGilbert, I ordered on Xmas eve and it's still showing as 'waiting picking'. I had my apology email a couple of days ago but I'm starting to get a bit twitchy as we go on holiday on Friday evening. I assumed when I ordered that it would arrive before New Year, even allowing for the bank holidays. A Hush order I placed on the 31st arrived today, with standard free delivery.

Zeldaaa · 02/01/2018 20:12

Thanks everyone for the Instagram tips. Interestingly I recently followed Brittany Bathgate as came across her when searching for something else (can’t recall what now).

My Instagram feed in general is quite narrow. All the same kind of fashion blogger wearing the same clothes, with recommendations to follow more similar bloggers. And of course once you start looking at brands that they wear you see more ads for the same brands else where (Instagram, Facebook etc).

Thanks for starting this thread OP.

I’ve had the same thoughts as you about Cos and struggled to understand the love for Cos clothes on here.

Having perused photos of these bloggers, I can now say Cos isn’t for me, so that’s saved me some precious time when I next go shopping in London!

fiorentina · 02/01/2018 20:45

I love Cos, there are lots of good outfits on instagram or Pinterest.

However frustratingly I made an order on 22 December, it’s been sat in the DPD dispatch centre in Germany since 28th. They aren’t being helpful as to when it will arrive. Quite disappointing for £6 delivery as previous ordering experiences have been positive.

MushroomSoup · 02/01/2018 22:19

I ordered on the 23rd and have just had confirmation that my parcel is arriving tomorrow. Can’t wait! I love Cos.

ilovecherries · 04/01/2018 10:17

I've had to go into my account and cancel my sale orders. Really disappointed but ordered on 24th and they are still showing as waiting for picking. We go on holiday tomorrow so concerned that the courier will simply dump them on the back step (which he usually does when we are out), leave them with a neighbour, which is unfair for two weeks, and then I will also be too late for returns when we come back. Seems a ridiculously long time for dispatch.

Floisme · 04/01/2018 10:23

I used to take the piss out of Cos but now I've seen their stuff for real and tried it on, I'm a big fan. But I find their website unfathomable and only buy when I can get to a store, which isn't very often. That's a shame about your order cherries.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 04/01/2018 10:25

I think Cos has lost the plot a bit at the moment. I used to buy lots from there but the colours are all awful.
I particularly remember some horrid dress with a maroon top over a mustard yellow skirt. Really horribl

We have a cos near us and I have to say the sales have been excellent. You have to try on everything though as the sizing is wacky and it can look terrible on the hanger.

Cos and Monki are owned by the same company which explains the sizing and the sack like shapes in both. But Monki is way more fun - they have beautiful prints - so if Cos is toomonochromatic, try Monki. ASOS carry them which means you can order a couple of sizes and try on (essential) and send back the wrong size for free.
