Stylish plus size websites

Hello everyone, I've resolved to try and be a bit more put together this year, and need some new clothes in size 18 - 20. I live hours away from proper shops so will be looking online. I usually get things from New Look and ASOS but want to start spending a little more on better quality things.

I like clean lines and classics like biker boots/ jackets (got these already!) I have a strong aversion to flowery prints a la Boden and White Stuff (although I quite like their plainer things) but like 'interesting' cuts and, I suppose, more 'edgy' stuff.

Can you recommend any websites, or brands to look out for on eBay please?

I quite like River Island Plus. A little better quality than ASOS and New Look, but more 'daring' designs (I.e..Not just giant mu-mus, but normal designs but for bigger people!) and reasonable prices as they are always sending me 20% codes.

BTW, if you want quality, stay away from Boo Hoo, absolutely dreadful.

poetry and wrap both go up to size 22
i have got loads of stuff from them over the years
i have found the quality of poetry stuff better than wrap although I'm sure they are both he same company.
It's expensive but like you I need good quality stuff for work and I'm careful how I wash and dry

Violeta by Mango is nice, sounds like it would suit your style.

Concrete thanks- I'd totally forgotten that RI do plus sizes (after years of thinking they just weren't for me). I actually bought a nice shirt dress from their sale a year ago. Will investigate now!

John Lewis have got a good selection of plus size. Violetta by Mango is lovely, Betty Barclay and Studio 8 is the plus version of Phase 8. RI Plus is ok but on the cheaper side of quality at times? I also love Box2 online for very clean lines. There is a lady on Ebay called CarolineAnn who makes some gorgeous stuff that's very figure flattering too. stores.ebay.co.uk/Caroline-Ann-661

ggirl Thank you - never heard of either of these but the knitwear is gorgeous, I am going to carefully consider a new jumper!

Oh my goodness! Big thanks to those of you who suggested Violeta - exactly what I'm looking for. I predict much spending in my near future!

Violeta is lovely but my experience as a busty plus size was that their tops can run a bit small, esp as compared to ASOS and New Look, which often run quite large. If you're busty (just in case your user name is a hint!) and choosing between sizes with Violeta, you might consider going with the larger one.

veryvery I didn't consciously choose the username to reflect my - ahem- generous bosom but yes! I am blessed in the boobage department so that's super handy to know; thank you!

Is the XXL equivalent to a 16 at Violeta?

DollyPartonsBeard · 06/01/2018 08:11

myway According to their size guide an XXL is a 22. I just bought a skirt in an L on eBay and it fits well - I'm an apple-ish 18.

Thanks Dolly I could only find a bit on the size guide saying XXL =16 and did think that's not particularly plus size.

Standstilling · 06/01/2018 13:19

Violeta stuff is on mango outlet online too. No free returns though Sad

Bejazzled · 06/01/2018 13:50

Mango Violeta M fits me as a tummy-heavy 16. John Lewis online stocks it but I usually buy from the outlet. Watch out for amazing bargain clearances, last autumn they sold off ALL their dresses for £7!

Bejazzled · 06/01/2018 13:53

......although it's makes me cackle to see that Mango Plus Size starts at 12 Confused

Navabi - and a really good site to read for inspiration archedeyebrow.com and she's also edited this www.amazon.co.uk/Plus-Bethany-Rutter/dp/1785038575?tag=mumsnetforum-21 - I really love her approach and voice and followed several of her make-up recommendations (Glossier)
