JERSEY collared shirt

homebythesea · 01/01/2018 05:57

Looking to replace 2 White Stuff jersey white shirts that are fabulous for work / layering but looking v tired. Can’t find a replacement anywhere, don’t like the feel of the usual “crisp” cotton shirt so it has to be jersey.

Help!

Excuse ugly links. I have these from Boden (plain ones now out of stock though) and from Baukjen (not really collared though but sit nicely and wash well.

I bought a black TU one in Sainsbury just before Christmas. They may have had white.

hugoagogo · 01/01/2018 10:14

esprit maybe too casual?

Subtleconstraints · 01/01/2018 10:29

I prefer a collar and bought a few of the Esprit tops linked below. The fit is nice but the fabric is thin (also in navy and black I think). Fine in winter with a jersey, but not so great on its own. Its frustrating because they made the same top five years or so ago (also bought a few then) and the material was thicker, better quality, with more cotton content, and without the logo! Grrr.

Subtleconstraints · 01/01/2018 10:32

Anyway, watching this thread because I wear jersey shirts like a uniform and hope to find some more! Hoping collars will make a come back soon ... .

hugoagogo · 01/01/2018 10:39

cute?

Ilovewillow · 01/01/2018 10:57

Have a look at Me and Em - they always have a really good selection of layering tops/shirts! They are quite pricey but they last for years!

MidLifeCrisis2017 · 01/01/2018 11:08

White Co are good and better quality. My White Stuff ones all shrunk and the buttons kept bursting open in the style of Barbara Windsor!

BestIsWest · 01/01/2018 11:14

Marking place. I want a navy one.

mercurymaze · 01/01/2018 11:20

French connection do them so do baukjen

Subtleconstraints · 01/01/2018 11:29

I can't find any white collared jersey tops in White Company or White Stuff. Am I looking in the wrong place?

homebythesea · 01/01/2018 13:38

hugoagogo you are a star - don’t know why I always forget to look at JL! Will look at all other suggestions- good to know I’m not the only lover of a jersey shirt

ilovecherries Boden one OOS but hopefully it’s a “classic” they will bring back? Boden off my radar recently but will keep an eye open.

I have that Hobbs one in grey and it's beautifully soft. I'd like a jersey shirt with buttons though.

ArkAtEee · 01/01/2018 21:36

The Boden one tends to come back in the summer.

Fashionjunkie · 01/01/2018 21:41

Mistral have loads in their sale.. here

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 01/01/2018 21:48

Jersey collared tops are my staple uniform for work but not seen anything great just yet so watching with interest.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 01/01/2018 21:59

And I’ve now just bought a new shirt from Mistral, never heard of them before so thank you fashionjunkie

Now on the hunt for a couple of pencil skirts...

homebythesea · 02/01/2018 05:13

Ooh those Mistral ones look ideal - what’s the sizing like?

OP posts:
Subtleconstraints · 02/01/2018 14:21

Yes, thanks for Mistral link, never heard of them before either!

Fashionjunkie · 02/01/2018 19:45

You’re welcome! They’re pretty true to size I think, I’ve had a few of their bits recently & it’s decent quality....

Ididnthearanything · 02/01/2018 20:01

I second Me and Em layering shirts.

NotMeNoNo · 02/01/2018 20:16

Kettlewell have them in lots of colours

here

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 29/01/2018 21:35

I’ve worn the Mistral shirt twice now and it’s lovely to wear, washes and irons up well as well so very pleased.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 30/01/2018 06:23

Just placemarking as I love and need jersey shirts too.
Agree that WC quality is great compared to others. I had some from H and M oddly but they won't last another season.
