White Company hydrocotton or...?

I’m in then market for a new dressing gown robe. I’m done with fleece - too sweaty when I’m wrestling various small people through breakfast and getting dressed.

So I want cotton, but I don’t want dough terry towelling. Tried on a White Company hydrocotton one today but jeez louise, they’re eighty quid. Are they having a giraffe?!

So my questions are twofold:

Are the White Company bathrobes really worth eighty smackeroos? Or £68/64 with a 15/20% discount.

Or is there something just as good for less money?

I had one and it looked and felt lovely but it pulled quite a lot and started to look scruffy (the brush tugged at it when I was drying my hair, I think.) I just replaced it with one of the velour/towelling ones in the sale. It's longer, slimmer fitting and not as thick but feels very soft.

I know they’re not cotton, but H&M have got some lovely linen dressing gowns. They were quite a lot cheaper than White Company and being natural fibres will do all the things you want cotton to do.

They’re £34.99.

Sat in mine now & I love it. Feels so lux and snuggly. Put on my old one yesterday and it felt so thin. Not great for cooking breakfast in, it’s a bit too puffy. Great for lounging.

Nothing compares to an Ugg robe. They're pricey but worth it, and much nicer than White Company. The shorter length ones can be found in the sales.

I love all my white Company robes and find they last years

Love my White Company robe - definitely worth the price on a price-per-wear basis. Only it's spoiled that aspect of expensive hotels for me because their robes are never as good as the one I have at home Grin It's true that after a couple of years some of the threads have pulled, but I don't mind that.

Try John Lewis and M&S. they have some lovely cotton dressing gowns that doesn't cost the earth. I find white company dressing gowns too heavy (but I'm quite small).

I have a cotton waffle one from M&S that I love (and I normally hate dressing gowns!).
