For women with big, cold feet.

Kirkland (ie Costco) Merino blend women's socks. Sooooo warm, sooooo comfy. Big enough for my size 7.5 hooves. Thick and cosy, yet still fit comfortably in ordinary shoes. Only drawback is that the elastic top is a bit tight for my big calves, but the sock tops are long enough that I can fold the elastic down to my marginally narrower ankles, and still get good coverage.

Haven't washed them yet, but am utterly besotted with them.

For women with big, cold feet.

I love the title of this thread! It could be a strapline for no-nonsense slippers adverts, possibly voiced by Sean Bean.

I don't whether to laugh or take offence!

Perhaps I should ask MNHQ to edit the title:

'For utterly gorgeous women with cold big feet, who couldn't give a monkey's about style as long as their toes are unsquashedly toasty.'

Absolutely no offence intended!! I just thought it was so down to earth that it made me smile... And I don't like Sean Bean either!

Definitely down to earth. I embrace my substance over styleGrin But if these socks are going to be advertised to women of (ahem) my demographic, then I require the deliciously manly tones of Colm Wilkinson (the original Valjean) to warm more than just my toes.

Nice. Do they do womens size 9? Usually i have to opt for mens...

NeverUseThisName · 31/12/2017 17:52

The packet said up to size 8. I'd say there's easily space for another size yet, especially if you have slender feet. They feel very snug at first, as they have a sort of band effect around the instep, but, being wool, they soon stretch a bit.

Ooh this is me! I love warm socks and am size 8.

And I love Sean Bean, the thought of him saying "For women with big, cold feet" in his Yorkshire tones has made me come over a bit funny.

I am a 9 as well and usually just buy men's for socks and what I can find that's vaguely feminine for shoes
