Is the strap really long enough to go crossbody? Looks a bit short, even on the model in the pics.

It's a ridiculously short strap. It's short for a shoulder strap, def won't go cross body - even on my size 8 DD.

It goes cross body on me but I'm 5ft3!

I'm 5' 4" but rather rotund....... so sounds like I'd have no chance. Bugger - it looks so nice!

It fits over the shoulder on the short strap doesn't it? I wouldn't use the long strap, I only like shoulder bags

The short strap fits over the shoulder (but fairly snugly).

The long strap is perfectly long enough for cross-body, even when wearing a bulky coat. I extend the strap to its longest setting. Or you could buckle it shorter and use as a shoulder bag.

Laptop....hmm, no. My tablet (iPad size) fits in though.

Well, cross body on me it's sitting in my armpit. I love the bag, but I was very disappointed last year when it came to realise a) how thin the 'cross body' strap is, and b) how short it is.

Fully extended, my strap is 30 inches end to end. It's TINY.

Mine's 35 inches just measuring the leather, then a couple more inches for the "clip" each side. If I wear it cross-body, the top of the bag is just below my waist. Hang on, will attempt a picture....

rattle, it IS a lovely bag though, and it's very robust. After a year of fairly steady use mine still looks like new.

My measurements include the clips. Clearly the straps aren't a consistent size, then. I'm 5foot 7 and a 14, DD is 5'9 and an 8. Neither of us having any chance of wearing it cross body.

Ah, I see. Mine nothing like that. It cuts right across top of bust and literally sits at the side of my boobs - an area that requires no additional bulk! Is that oxblood - that's the one I've got.

Mine's navy, bought for Christmas 2016. It does say cross body in the description, and I think I would have returned it if the strap were as short as yours seems to be.

I love that bag, had it in my basket but decided to check pics to see the size in perspective but it’s too big for me as I have back problems and am trying to downsize to something I won’t overfill as I generally do!

So tempted by this. But I also like the Edie. Torn between the Scout Hobo in oxblood or stone and the Edie.

I like a slouchy shoulder bag. Am big though so I know the actual strap won't go over my shoulder so I will need to use the longer strap. Just worried the other straps would be annoying.

I like a crossbody bag to sit on my hip, if not a bit lower, so it's a no-no for me.

Will keep looking :-)

Is the stone grey-ish or tan-ish in colour?
