Petite work trousers

Any recommendations for somewhere that sells nice smart tapered trousers in petite sizes? I'm a size 10 but I often find that the waist is loose and the bottom/thighs a bit snug!

Have you tried Next?

Yes, I've bought from next in the past but I don't find they last very well so was looking to spend a bit more this time.

I have recommended Wallis before on MN but got some eye rolling. I think they are good quality and fit well.

You could try some of the department store concessions such as Precis Petite.

Try uniqlo, I've bought a pair of their treggings and found it fit very well. Uniqlo don't stock a petite range but do offer a free alteration with every trouser purchase instead.

I recently bought slim leg trousers from the petite collection at Debenhams and found them really well tailored

Gap is good. ASOS do lots of petite on line

Banana republic has a great petite section, I get nearly all my work clothes from there

RipMacWinkle · 31/12/2017 08:45

I second Banana Republic. I got my favourite work trousers from there and I'm 5 feet.

I second the Wallis recommendation, I think their petite range are really well fitting compared to others

I buy from Topshop Petite and also Marks and Spencer do trousers in different lengths. But then, I have the same problem as you with the waist, so I take them to a local tailors to have it taken in. It costs about £7 per piece.

Jcrew petite, but they are expensive. Also banana republic, Boden, gap,. Also sometimes marks and spencer makes a rogue nice pair of trousers in short length. I have wide leg wool-blend trousers from there. They are the dreaded Per Una.... but you would never know, and paired with a nice jigsaw top they look great.

Dorothy Perkins petite range often has some great smart stuff, I recommend having a look there (I know you said you’re happy to go a bit more upmarket but I’ve been pleased with the quality!)
