I need a new coat

And most of the ones I've seen are awful. Either plastic bomber sorts of the find my nan would wear. I would like fitted with buttons and longer than my bum. Either check or plain but not black. Smart enough for work. No fur or fancy bits. Budget of 50 so any sales bargind would be good. I'm a size 12/14.

Get to a department store as they will have loads of brands that are reduced at the minute. A plain navy is always a good idea. Don't wait until January as 12-14 will have sold out.
Have you got a Fenwicks, JL or HoF nearby? A designer outlet?
Lots of stores have really good sales sections permanently on their websites so that could be a goer and you could have a look.

Topshop ones like this can be found on eBay for less than £50 I think

The coat looks a bit longer on me than models probably because I’m not 6 foot
Zip not buttons but looks neat and fine for both work and casual imo
