Because they are a cheap fashion welly made in China and sold at inflated prices?? Same as Hunter. Lots of Welly threads on here if you are after a non leak pair.

IMO wellies are for keeping your feet dry and aren't a fashion item.

I have Hunters that I got as a Christmas present in 1982 - my mum sized up and I still wear them. Never leaked and still going strong. Proper stable wellies in those days. I blame Kate Moss for making them trendy and the quality going down the pan.

DH got a pair of wellies from the local garden centre - he is style itself - when we first met - so 20 odd years ago but still going strong.

If it's going to be a shitty, slushy January, we'll all need non-leaky wellies.
