Hollywood Mirrors - any MUAs about?

So; I have a brilliant plan that involves turning my walk in wardrobe into a makeup room. Tons of other storage in the houae and currently have makeup bursting out of every drawer and plan on transforming my walk-in wardrobe. It’s about 6ft by 8ft and my only concern is the lighting; as it’s originally a wardrobe/ closet it’s dark with no natural lighting so I need to get the lightening right in order to get my makeup right. A friend is an electrician and will do any necessary fitting but I don’t think lighting for makeup is a topic he particularly specialises in and he’ll just install whatever I pick.

I know Hollywood Mirrors are fairly expensive but I’m assuming that’s for a reason and they’re worth investing in? I’m looking for a relatively large one (say 90cm by 60cm). Does anyone have one that they’d recommend? I’d looked on Illuminated Mirrors and they look great but they’re not cheap.

I also seen the IKEA Musik lamps that you place around a mirror to create your own Hollywood Mirror with; has anyone any experience of these or know if they’re any good?

Any other general tips for lighting a makeup room would be greatly appreciated! Smile

Have a look at Wayne Goss's mirror on youtube..it looks great.
I think I've read reviews (yesterday doing some similar research) about the lights from IKEA being old tech.
I have terrible lighting in my room and need a huge amount of lumens in general so I'm going to buy an LED strip and make my own around my dressing table mirror.

A make up room! Are you KIm Kardashian?

Sorry, I'm not much into make up, so I've nothing constructive to add.
